My fellow Americans… I am here to discuss the importance of America’s role in the world. As your president, I believe that it's time for a new foreign policy structure, a policy with guaranteed prosperity and justice for all. It is in America’s best interest to address the people first, for they are the ones who make America great. We’ve had many great leaders guide America towards its prosperity such as: George Washington, Ronald Reagan, etc. The list doesn’t stop there, but I feel as if these people have made the biggest impact on our foreign policy. Before I address my new foreign policy speech, let’s go back in time and see how the past has shaped America today.
As most of us know, in George Washington’s farewell speech he wished for America to stay “neutral” in foreign affairs because he believed that it was impolitic for America to become involved with the issues of other countries. We should be the leader of the group, not the follower. I propose that since we have many privileges that other nations do not, we should help out nations who are suffering and need help. Let’s talk about the ongoing war in Syria. I’m sure most of us are thinking what on earth has happened to Syria? It’s truly heartbreaking that millions of people have been forced out of their homes, either killed or with nowhere to go. The death rate due to this war is far too high and unacceptable, as a nation we need to provide more efficient support for Syria. We need to come up with a plan to end this war for good. While we have granted some Syrian refugees admission to the United States, I propose that we should provide refugees and their families with shelter and other accommodations because it isn’t enough to just send them here knowing they are coming empty
