Ever wonder what is really inside the food you eat every day? Well, you might be surprised to know that even the hamburger that you crave so much still has many horrible secrets to share with you! Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) are one of the most important and controversial issues in our world today. GMO’s are special kinds of organisms that have been amended to improve the quality of food products in a bad way. There is no doubt that GMO products have spread rapidly in our world, but the negativity produced an outburst of concern towards human health and the protection needed for biodiversity.
First of all, GMO products have not ensured full food security unlike organic products; which have been proven edible countless times throughout …show more content…

On the other hand, advocates for GMO have specifically states that transgenic crops possess harmful toxins only for insect resistance which reduces the risk of environmental contamination due to the killing of the insects. Although, what they don’t know is that the genes injected into the crops can easily spread to the ecological system where many innocent living creatures who aren’t immune to it could get seriously affected. Sadly, the foreign genes will result in horrible mutations which could scramble delete or relocate the genetic code for the crops. This will eventually increase the risk of abnormal mutation in the other crops that the genes spread to. For example, some organizations prioritize their time to maintaining a safe environment when experimenting on animals. “There are however agencies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the American Association for Animal Laboratory that regulate and monitor the treatment of experimental animals” (The Genetically Modified Food Debate Packet, Page 2). This means that whatever animals scientists are experimenting on, they have to guarantee they are not causing them to suffer. Unfortunately, even preventing these animals from serious suffering; scientists cannot fully eliminate GM crops because it is spreading faster than they can catch up with. This exploits the real disastrous effects of GM crops on organic farming, especially when dealing with the most significant aspects of e of this farming; which is keeping everything clean and preventing any pollution. According to a recent study from Hokkaido, Japan, it cannot prevent GM crops from intersecting with the organic foods. Therefore, the co-existence of both GMO products and organic farming is very difficult in both industries, making GMO products completely dominant over conventional farming (Keisuke, 2008). Another
