As our country is growing at a rapid pace, millions of Americans at this moment have no access to any type of health care. According to a recent study, over 44 million people in the United States currently have no health insurance. These people do not have the ability to receive any proper health care without worrying about the medical bills that come with it. All of these Americans have a higher risk of dying just because they can not afford health insurance. To contrast, these people could easily be laid off, and the economy would actually increase if health care was free. An article states, “With a universal health care system, companies would keep that money [spent on health care] and would have a healthier and more productive work force. If we implement the universal health care system, other economic benefits would also ensue,” (Mohit). The amount of money spent on health care is over 2 trillion dollars a year, and saving that money could boost the economy very quickly. Studies of the scheme’s impact suggest that it had a modest positive impact on poor people’s utilisation of health services,” (Rosser 258). Using certain programs to make sure everyone has the option to health care has been shown to work in many other countries. The multiple other countries successfully using this system greatly supports that the United States should also have free health care. To add more support to this, an experiment was conducted in Dublin, Ireland where free health services were given to the homeless. It was found that most of the homeless people had some sort of sickness linked to them, and the experiment helped them get the
