Frank Foley was considered a hero by many and still is thought of as a hero. Frank Foley is a hero in many ways. He did some very courageous things during his life that most of us today would not do. Most of us today would not risk our lives as spies. He was the head of the British Passport Control Office in Germany, but that isn’t the most amazing thing that he has done. Frank Foley should be considered a hero for the following reasons. Frank Foley was a spy during WWII when Hitler was trying to get rid of all of the Jews. Frank was not okay with anything that Hitler or the Nazis were doing. Frank decided to risk his life to save 10,000 Jews from being murdered in concentration camps like Auschwitz. He used his job to help get Jews out …show more content…
He may have only saved 10,000 Jews out of the millions that were killed, but that still made others believe that they could save people too. A hero is someone who will risk everything to make sure that others are okay and safe. That is exactly what Frank did. He risked his life to save the 10,000 Jews that would have been put into camps and brutally murdered for being different. What Frank did helps others in the world realize that they can be brave and courageous and make a difference. Even if what they do is just as small as helping someone out that is being bullied or abused.
There are heroes today like Peter Tatchell. Peter is a supporter of gay rights. And just like Frank he is risking his safety to make sure others feel safe and welcome. Even though he isn’t saving lives like Frank did he is still making a difference in today’s society. There are people like Frank around everyday that would do the same thing as he did. He is a hero and a legend for all of the things that he did. There will always be someone out there just like Frank and all it takes to notice it is a situation that they are needed in.
Frank Foley should be thought of as a hero for the rest of existence. He was a very courageous man with goal that he achieved. He didn’t want anyone to get hurt so he did his best to save as many lives as possible. He would’ve saved more lives if he could have but it was too late for too many of those people in those
In order to be a hero, one must be courageous. Some people that are heroes are Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Tubman.
Three things that made Frank important was that he was a brave and courageous fighter, he loved to help fellow Jews, and he saved more than 200 Jews. He contributed to his field of specialty by getting weapons and food for them. He also helped wounded men by carrying them or caring for them. He did this because he loved his fellow fighters. Frank defended many villages when they were under attack by the Nazis. He was never too scared to take on a task because he knew who he was helping.
Everyone has their own perception on what defines a hero; some may argue that they exhibit characteristics such as honesty or courage, while others may think that heroes have special power. Our society may have changed the values in which we associate heroes with, but one thing seems to have never changed: the main character of the book turns out as the hero. In my analyst, Holden Caulfield, the protagonist in The Catcher in the Rye, is put on trial as we see through our own eyes how Caulfield can not be considered a hero in modern society. In modern society, we would consider a hero as a role model, and someone who we would want to emulate.
Otto Frank was the husband of Edith Frank and the father of Anne and Margot Frank and the friends of the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel. In 1933 Adolf Hitler was voted president (Chancellor for Germany) for the Nazi Party and on April 1 the first Anti-Jewish law was first passed, In the same year, the Franks left Germany to escape the Nazis. In 1942 the Franks go into hiding in a Secret Annex in Amsterdam. In the story, Mr. Frank showed courage, compassion, and sacrifice. Sina Salemian Salemian 1 HS English 2;Period 3 Ms.Matthews January 10, 2014 Anne Frank During The Holocaust Anne Frank is a strong young girl that lived during the Holocaust in Amsterdam, Germany. She lived in a very bad time during the Holocaust, where she either had to hide or go to a concentration camp. Anne Frank is a normal girl that should be going to school and not be in hiding from the Nazis and should not have to take the sacrifices of having no friends, no ability to be free and to express her religion. I consider Anne a hero because of all the dedication to staying free and not having to be under a dictatorship.
...ards Jews and creating holocaust. There is no doubt that the things that he did were terrible and we should never let someone do it again but his story could be inspirational for many people if we imagine that it is for a good purpose.
Frank is good at heart. Mr. Frank is a very selfless and caring man. He cares for everyone in the annex. When Mrs. Frank finds Mr. Van Daan stealing food, she wants him and Mrs. Van Daan to leave. However, Mr. Frank disagrees. “ You’re speaking in anger. You cannot mean what you are saying.” Mr. Frank doesn’t want the Van Daans to have to live out on the streets. He wants them to be safe in the annex, rather than in the streets where they could be caught. This shows that Mr. Frank is good at heart because he cared for the Van Daans. He didn’t want anyone to be taken or killed by the Germans. Mr. Frank has a good heart because he cared about Jews and everyone in the
" The businessman, Oskar Schindler, demonstrated a powerful example of a man who was moved emotionally to step in and take action to save the lives of the Jewish people. His bravery still commands great respect today. His role shows the great significance of speaking up against injustice and choosing not to be silent.
James Foley died a hero. From 2009 he was working in war torn area, with a high risk of death to ‘break the story’. A hero could be anyone. A hero could be an ordinary person who has impacted someone or has inspired a change toward greatness in their life. A hero can be passive or active, famous or ordinary, rich or poor. What gives a hero a distinct similarities to other heroes and distinguish them from non heroes is their ability to influence others that they are extraordinary because of their means to overcome obstacles, defeated adversities, and still manage to be a leader, role model, or an admirable person within society.

Heroism is defined as an act of courage and an act of selflessness. They reflect the highest levels of morality in society. Heroes have embodied the morality codes of civilizations throughout the ages. When heroes display courage, observers often identify with that courage. The refusal to take the easy way out and the ability to act in spite of fear, is what makes a person a hero. This is the way everyone wishes to react in the midst of a crisis. As witnessed in literature and real life, mankind needs heroes to provide an inspirational role model, an escape from the mundane, and a guide for morality.
The acts of heroism are considered as an inspiration to others and a reference but, it takes certain attributes such as courage and selflessness. Acts of heroism done by heroes demonstrate leadership and make our society a better place. For instance, Mohandas K. Gandhi helped gain freedom for the people without violence but giving speeches. This demonstrates that Gandhi showed heroism because he inspired many of his people to not use violence to solve a conflict and that takes courage. Mohandas Gandhi was the leader of the protest and he sacrificed many things just to get freedom.
