Shortening the school week to four days would not only relieve stress on students, but on teachers also. It would cut down on the amount of stress and give them more time in class to complete/continue on their homework. In the year of 2017, $72.8 billion was spent on improving the education being taught to students. With that amount of money, you could buy sixteen Yacht History Supremes which cost 4.5 billion each! Using the method of only having four days a week of school would help cut down on the amount of spending on education. Although students have to pay for their own school lunches, the school has to pay for the food that the students eat for their lunches. On top of all this spending, the district has to pay teachers and substitutes when the teachers can’t come to school. A shortened school week would cut down on this extra spending of teachers and substitutes and allow for more spending in other areas that are truly

Teachers don’t get paid nearly as much as they should. With a four-day week, the classroom time is extended to meet state requirements. However, teachers claim they aren’t getting paid enough to do the amount of work required ( Yarbrough and Gilman 85). Also, Colorado’s Karval School District RE 23 Superintendent claimed, “‘If teachers are not efficient in the classroom, we have one less day to reach students,’’ (Chmelynski). Longer days in the classroom can also be tiring on the students. Teens can’t learn well when they’re tired (“No-School Fridays” 20). Potential challenges of a four-day week are the special needs and younger students. Attending school for these students could be difficult by keeping their attention (Weldon

We have more family time, time to fish and hunt, and also more time to work. But what I do not understand is why do not tell us what is going on with the school. Maybe, some parents would even volunteer to help the school out. Has the school even thought about that? Probably not. I am here to try and persuade you to be on my side of the school. I believe this would be the best for the school. Also, The Board of Education does not know what day they are going to do. It is ether going to be Mondays or Fridays. I personally think, if they go to a four day school week, Mondays. A lot of the parents are saying yes, and then a lot of parents are saying no. Plus, our grade for the school is D-. That right there is telling you NOT to do it. This will cause more frustration for students and they will not want to do the homework. They will want to relax more than

School should be four days a week with an extra hour added to each school day because it would save money for the school system, increase student motivation, stimulate the economy, and promote student achievement. There has been a decrease in education due to the small amount of resources, causing classrooms to be bigger and children not being able to extend their knowledge. Even though the economy has been falling, each school district has been working hard to promote student education, which could mean trading a traditional school schedule for a four-day school week. Replacing a normal school schedule for the four day school week can raise the school budget tremendously. (Hart, Demand Media).
