Founders Day Project Analysis

Researching and discovering new information can expand our understanding of various topics. The Founders Day Project allowed me to acquire a great deal of knowledge on history pertaining to Townsend Harris, the person, and the Townsend Harris High School. It also helped me to discover several things about myself and about teamwork.
To begin with, I always thought that working independently on my own would be more convenient than working in a group with other people. Working independently meant that I was in control of everything. It meant that I didn’t need to ask others for their opinions before making certain changes. However, after working together with my classmates on this project, I realized that the opinions of others can be quite helpful. Their suggestions allowed me to be more open-minded towards making new changes. One change that we all agreed upon was transforming our original PowerPoint presentation into a lovely website. I have to admit, our PowerPoint idea was a bit dull. In addition to good advice, my group divided the workload, making sure that everybody had their own responsibility. I was not familiar with the members of my group at first. However, as we got to learn more about each other, working in a group naturally became more enjoyable. I wasn’t fond of the amount of writing that we had to do for our website, but knowing that my group was there to lend a hand to anyone of us who needed help really encouraged me to work hard. Being able to communicate easily with my group was also important when it came to working as a team. I felt that my group and I were able to work together pleasantly to complete this project. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with new people in future group
