I see myself as a motivated, responsible and well-rounded individual. I am a stickler for details and information when it comes to projects. I am interested in pursuing a masters in forensic science, now that I have a Bachelors in Chemistry. I hope to also improve or even invent something to further advance forensic analysis. Along with getting a masters in forensics, I later like to get certifications in ballistics and digital forensics. Forensics has always caught my attention. When I was younger and started watching shows like: NCIS, Law and Order, and CIS. I started dreaming about being one of those scientist in the lab; running test and helping solving cases. I am aware of the social sacrifices, confidentiality and continual education commitment involved in a forensic career. In my early college career, I worked at an insurance company. There I learned better time management skills and improved my communication skills by interacting with customers. The fall semester of my junior year, I worked in a bio-lubrication lab for oil drilling equipment. The summer before and throughout my senior year, I have worked in a bio-control laboratory for the City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board. In the laboratory, along with my supervisors, I have participated in many research experiments that tested the effectiveness of different larvicides and natural control methods for mosquitoes. These work experiences have allowed me examine evidence and present the findings clear and concise to colleagues and superiors. Skills that I have acquired and honed will prepare me for the vigorous work ahead of me in the field of forensics. Right now my determination is to join a degree course that fulfils the growing demand for expertise in investigatory, enforcement and monitoring work. I chose to apply to your university because of your reputation as leaders in teaching science and the ranking of your forensic program. I strongly feel that my steadfastness, communication skills, responsibility and friendly nature are all valuable assets
