There are many different types of fetishes out in the world today. According to the book, “Forensic and Medico-legal Aspects of Sexual Crimes and Unusual Sexual Practices”, written by Anil Aggrawal, there are about five hundred-forty-seven terms describing paraphilic sexual interests. Anil Aggrawal describes Sexual Fetishism as, “Reliance on some non-living objects as a stimulus for sexual arousal and sexual gratification” (15). A fetish can be both physical as well as a mental aspect of sexuality Just to name a few fetishes and their definitions:
• Acrotomophilia Arousal to amputees
• Pubephilia Arousal to pubic hair
• Nasolingus Arousal to sucking on a person’s nose
• Urophilia Arousal to urine or urinating others
• Furries Arousal of dressing in animal costumes and engaging in sexual acts

Now, the big question is, why do people develop fetishes? In psychology, it’s said to believe that it’s a learned association, in which people have learned an association between a certain object and sexual pleasure. Here is an example of a learned association from my experience. At about the age of five, my brother has always had a fascination with feet. At first we did not think much of it but now at twenty he continues to have the same fascination. The only reason we know this is because we accidently came across conversations between him and the opposite sex, basically having internet sex associating the conversation with feet. Now, it’s not terrible of my brother to have this fascination with this particular fetish but there are some people that still don’t fully understand it, which in my opinion make it difficult for my brother to engage in a normal
In the Forensic Case #356228, skeletal remains of both human and animal were discovered in a hunting area. The skeletal remains were of potential victims named as either Robert Rutherford or Stephen Morton. Robert Rutherford, potential victim #1, was an African American, 65 years or age, had a pacemaker, carried a Gerber 650 knife, had unknown religious affiliations, and was 5’ft 6”inches tall. Potential victim #2, was Stephen Morton, a Caucasian 40 years of age, had a heart condition, was a hunter in the same area, also had unknown religious affiliations, carried a Gerber 650 knife, and was 5’ ft 7” inches tall.
A pornographic world [What is normal] by Robert Jensen takes an inside look at the culture of masculinity and what role pornography takes in shaping that culture. Jensen describes how he was forced to play a “macho” role as a child out of fear of being bullied and ridiculed for not being manly enough. Pornography use started for him and his friends in grade school – they would steal magazines and hide them to share in a group later. He talks of how he learned of a social concept, called the “ideal of prostitution” (the notion of men “buying” women in various forms of undress, solely for their pleasure), at a young age. While there has always been a stigma around pornography, whether stemming from moral or religious reasons, Jenson continued to use porn until his 30s.

For example, In the case of Jacob, an ordinary guy who faces many obstacles including the focus of his desire for women 's feet. It seems impossible to define normal sexual behaviors because sexual behaviors that are considered normative vary within the cultural context of the culture and other factors. For instance, in Jacob 's case, there seems to be a deviation involving the object of his sexual attraction. Jacob 's intense sexual desire to touch, to gaze upon, and to suck women 's feet displays an inconsistency to what contemplates as normal sexual desire and behavior among man in his cultural context. For instance, when comparing Jacob 's sexual desire of women 's feet to what was considered normal among men, which were breast, legs, buttocks, and genitals. It seems that there is a distinct deviation in Jacob 's desires from the norm. To further expand, wanting to press his cock against women 's feet demonstrates the intensity of having a fetishistic disorder. Jacob 's erotic distortions made him feel hideous and mortified by his longing. Jacob meets the full criteria for a fetishistic disorder. His sexual arousal is focused on nongenital body parts, which is manifested by fantasies, urges, and behaviors. Jacob 's fetish is causing him significant distress and impairment in social, occupational, and other important areas of functioning. For instance, Jacob no longer engages in sexual intercourse with his wife, and thus, his marriage has been
Paraphilic behavior such as the Sado-Masochism becomes more discussed and explicitly shown through the means of mass media. The integration of Sadomasochistic content in the cinematography and literature increases social awareness of this sexual behavior. The social bias around Sado-Masochism diminishes with the time, which makes this practice more common and acceptable among the couples. There are certain subtypes of the sadomasochism which differ by severity, intensity, and thematics. Sado-Masochistic behaviors are caused by multiple causes which vary in every person.
Paedophilia is a subcategory of paraphilia, a condition where individuals experience sexual desires or actions; that are considered as “abnormal” (SOURCE). The understanding of what paedophilia or a paedophile is, comes from the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. The manual describes the behaviour to consist of an individual who is older than the age of 16, and who has had recurring sexual fantasies and desires directed at prepubescent
Forensic anthropology is the study of bones in relation to a criminal investigation. Some have probably seen it used on television, but this is not an accurate portrayal of what this truly is. Many times, this area of forensic science is hidden from the public eye; people only get to see all of the glamorous parts. What they do not see is all of the hard work and effort that is put in to get the job correctly done. This career is a rare decision for someone to choose, because of the lack of opportunity for employment positions as well as the low income per year; however, it is an extremely fascinating occupation. Forensic anthropology has been known to help many organizations, including museums, and law enforcement agencies.
On March 23, 2017 at approximately 0709 hours, I was dispatched to 25408 MC RD S.6, within the County of Montezuma, State of Colorado, reference a cold attempted suicide by a juvenile.
Fixation means that a person has become permanently invested in a stage of development, for example, if a child cannot be breastfed during their first year, or are breastfed for too long, it can potentially result in a fixation with kissing, smoking, thumb-sucking, or anything where the mouth becomes the area of pleasure. Each stage, if not handled properly, can cause fixations and habits that seem very normal to society, while others can result in desires that may seem off-limits (McLeod, 2008). Nonetheless, sexual desire was a taboo in the early 1900’s, so this theory became a foundation for future research on the subject, even though there were many skeptics at the time, and even
An alternative position in this realm is the neurophysiological hypothesis proposed by Flor-Henry (1987).. As such, he proposed that the observed EEG differences in sex-offenders were reflective of a pathological neural organisation in the dominant hemisphere thus giving rise to abnormal sexual representations, which in turn lead to, disrupted connections with the non-dominant hemisphere. Consequently, only these abnormal ideas are capable of eliciting an orgasmic response. Contrary to these theories is the hypothesis that brain dysfunction may not produce the sexual urges; rather it may function to weaken an individu...
Hyper Sexual addiction is a disorder that can be defined as a person having a habitually elevated sex drive, fantasies, and urges. Nevertheless, compared to other sexual addictions, this could be known as one of the most riskiest and dangerous addiction. Hyper Sexual Addiction has become more prevalent because of the infidelities amongst some celebrities and political figures. Sexual addiction has always existed, but because of technology and social media, people have become more aware of it. People who suffer from this disorder are like drug addicts that crave drugs; they think they can stop, but the urges are constantly there. According to An Elements Behavioral Health article (2016), for the sex addict, sexual activity provides an intense,
Sexual objectification refers to the way in which a person sexually reduces another by treating them as a mere sex object (Halwani). Sexual objectification is rarely referred to as a benign topic, though throughout this evaluation, an enlightened, thou broad range of opinions are discussed emphasising the ambiguity of the term in relation to the morality of sexual objectification. Halwani’s definition only embraces ‘treatment’ and or the ‘behavioural’ aspects of sexual objectification, nevertheless Halwani recognises that the process by which someone is sexually objectified occurs most frequently throughout the following scenarios: During casual sex, as the parties desire nothing more than the others body party, essentially their sexual parts. When we look at naked pictures of people and become intrigued by their sexual aspects. Engaging in pornography, as the material already objectifies it’s actors as models (Halwani). Perving on a person’s bodily features such a “her booty” as he or she walks by. Catcalling, by reducing the person solely to their physical appearances and lastly, fantasising about someone, as it objectifies them solely on their physical appearances and can in turn symbolise men or women holistically (Halwani, 2010, pp 186). Allowing for a broader discussion in relation to when sexual objectification is morally permissible (if ever), idea’s constructed by Immanuel Kant, Martha Nussbaum and David Soble are broadly evaluated in order to construct when sexual objectification is permissible.
Forensic pathologists are the people who determine the cause and time of death if the deceased person died under suspicious circumstances, whether they be violent or not. They determine if the death was accidental, a homicide, natural, a suicide, or even if the cause of death was unknown. They do this by studying said victim’s medical history, evaluating the crime scene for evidence, studying the body for any clues, and performing an autopsy. After determining the cause, time, and the manner in which the victim died, forensic pathologists make a written report on the victim and sometimes testify in court to report their findings.
The German Richard Von Krafft Ebing was one of the first scientists to conduct a “study on sexuality and the sexual perversions”. In his publication “Psychopathia Sexualis” (1886) he writes extensively about the sexuality of disabled peoples under a pathologizing scope. His fourth chapter, titled “Special Pathology, pathological exuality in the various forms of mental disturbance” addresses and lists the sexualities of those listed under a taxonomy of mental illnesses: imbecility, dementia, paretic dementia, epilepsy, periodical insanity, psychopathia sexualis periodica, mania, satyriasis and nymphomania, melancholia, hysteria and paranoia. He also has a section within his fifth chapter titled “Pathological Sexuality in its Legal Aspects” in which he discusses “Immoral acts with persons in the care of others”. Krafft-Ebing takes great interest in disabled sexuality throughout his texts, the issue with his writings is that while seeking to define the concept of a “normal sexuality” he pathologized many sexual acts and sexualities.
Paedophilia is a concept which has changed throughout the eras the beliefs and attitudes towards paedophilia is something that is seen as a very difficult subject. Social standards are extremely influential when it comes to deciding what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour for a society and over time especially within the western world this is one of the things that have crossed boundaries and become a topic of debate for a variety of cultures. Paedophilia is considered to be an abnormal or unnatural attraction towards children. Throughout this essay there will be an attempt to discuss the constructions that surround the notion of paedophilia with focus on the social and psychological aspects. Firstly it is important to understand the history of paedophilia to be able to fully explore the explanations which we will be presented later on in this essay. Dating back to as far as the Roman and Greek eras where relationships between children and adults were accepted and portrayed as forms of mentorship. Up until the age of enlightenment, there was little more known than the naturalistic approach to maturity and sexuality. La Fontaine, (1990) states a paedophile is generally defined as a person who gains sexual gratification from contact with pre-pubescent children, this is a supported definition from various academics. According to the ICD-10 manual, Paedophilia is ‘a sexual preference for children, boys, girls or both usually of pre-pubertal or early pubertal age’. A person 16 years of age or older meets the definition if they have a persistent or predominant sexual preference for prepubescent children at least five years younger than themselves. Alter...
