Being a great football player

Being a great football player is a hard task that many people try to reach in their career. A lot of football players fall short of this goal. A great football player is a person and leader who shows heart ,passion, and pride for the game. Someone who will put the needs of the team before his or her own is a great player. These are things that can be hard to find in a player and even harder to teach. I have played beside great players and bad players, having seen the effect that each kind of player has on a team. Playing beside a great football player comes with all kinds of pros and cons. I have the comfort of being beside someone I know who is going to give his all and rarely mess up. So playing beside them, I have to match their style of play, which is not easy all the time. Playing beside a bad player is just the opposite of a great player. I have to watch to make sure they do not mess up, causing me not to focus on my job. This makes for a bad chain reaction of events that could lose us the game. My great football player is someone who is passionate about football. He lives football; it is all he thinks about ,so the fans and other players know when that big moment comes, he will not let them down. He puts …show more content…

A great player can set the tone of the game by a great play. Then the a bad player could kill the drive as soon as it starts either by missing a assignment or playing selfish. For example, this season I ran back a kickoff ,for about 90 yards just to have it called back by a flag. It was a blocking in the back 20 yards behind the play that killed the drive. If he would have stopped being selfish, we could have had a touchdown and a huge momentum swing in the game: when a great player would have blocked and gotten ready for the next play instead of making a selfish
