In order to ensure that the campaign becomes a success, the intervention and assistance of various relevant groups and individuals within the distribution channel will be needed. The first group that will be included in the campaign is the Sydney Environmental Authority whose mandate is to ensure that surroundings are conserved in the Sydney State. The authority will be required to provide resources for holding seminars in which the target audience will be trained on simple and less costly ways of recycling food waste. In addition to the authority, the campaign team will also work together with managers and supervisors of takeaway shops, hotels, supermarkets, and food joints to ensure that the promotion’s objectives are met. An organization that knows its target audience mostly aims at developing a strong marketing and brand strategy. Marketing materials and resources are likely to go to waste if an organization fails to identify its target audience well. Irrespective of that, most companies still commit the mistake by failing to be specific when identifying their target audience (Luther 70). When targeting an audience, the organization should ensure that it settles for a market that is most likely to purchase its products or service severally and for a long period. The target audience should comprise individuals who would be affected in one way or the other if they failed to buy the products or services being marketed (Luther 71). The food waste reduction campaign targets the food service industry in the Sydney Central Business District (CBD). The industry comprises takeaway restaurants, shops, bars, cafes, supermarkets, and hotels. The position statement for the intended campaign in support of food waste reduction is a value proposition that will assist in optimizing the purpose of the initiative. A position statement is usually intended to define what an organization stands for, what it does, and its position within the industry in which it operates. The position statement for the food waste reduction campaign will help identify the target audience, desired behavior, description phrase, and individuals in the distribution channel who are going to promote the promotional efforts.
