Some academic majors include public health and public relations. Public health includes promoting and protecting the health of the people and the communities that they live in. There are more than 100 majors offered at FIU. A Bachelors degree is offered in public relations, which is the protection of iconic people or companies. Bachelors, masters, research doctorate, and professional doctorate are all offered at FIU but only for certain majors. When attending Florida International University classes could become tough but that difficulty could be simplified with the offered academic support. Academic support is when someone checks in with you every once in a while. at FIU, if a students grade point average falls below 2.0 then that student then goes on academic probation. Academic probation means that if your grades do not start going up then you will be dismissed from campus. FIU has two major campuses, Modesto A. Maidque Campus (MMC), and Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC). MMC is located in west Miami-Dade county, MMC is also built on a 342 acre abandoned airfield. Panther Mover is a service provided at MMC that shuttles students around the campus. MMC is also the former home to Marty’s cube, a giant cube that students used to spin to get good grades on exams. Nothing was the same anymore but it was a challenged I happily took after a few months of resentment. I saw it as a new opportunity to restart and focus on school and golf. I joined three AICE classes and got A’s in them my junior year and now I am in five AICE classes and have gotten straight A’s through the first semester. I found new friends without forgetting the ones at home and experienced amazing new things. Without moving to Florida I would not be half of the person I am today and I am thankful I took on the challenge of making the best out the situation! Summer term 2016 was the very first time I was considered a college student who attended Florida International University or any university for that matter. I would like to attend UTK because I heard that it is a great school. The student –faculty ratio is 17:1, and the school has 27.9 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students. Most of their classes are 20-49 students, that’s the perfect size for me. The Vol Nation really cares about the success of their students and the quality of their education. As a low-income student in high school, I used my application fee waivers, to apply to four Cal State Universities and four University of California schools. I did not apply to any private universities, for the simple fact that I lacked guidance and information about the schools as well as the probability that I would be accepted to such schools. When I was denied from my top choice (the University of California, Los Angeles), I decided to attend the best school I was accepted to—the University of California, Santa Barbara. While recruitment and admission of prospective students span a short time in comparison to the multi-year relationship of enrolled students, effective recruiting practices yield diverse, high ability students that add to the excellence and support the mission of selective colleges and universities. When coupled with effective enrollment management, the efforts of admissions officers are quite significant. Recruiting and admitting not just the most academically prepared students, but also stretching ourselves to consider others who show potential, allows for equitable admissions practices and ensures students are successful and that they have a positive experience ultimately leading to faithful alums and potential donors. The second I stepped onto the campus, I knew that it was where I wanted to be and I felt like I was at home. The atmosphere felt friendly and family-like, the campus and the surrounding area was beautiful, academics are amazing, and the athletics and their facilities are great. The most appealing of these factors to me was the outstanding criminal justice program. This really caught my eye because my long-term goal after college is to work in the criminal justice field as a criminal investigator or a crime scene investigator. Not only does UNF have a great criminal justice program with outstanding professors that were, at one point, in the criminal justice field, but they also have great ties with the FBI and Jacksonville Sheriffs Office,
The international students are expected to pay the full tuition fee, whereas the domestic students are eligible for heavy government subsidies and that is one of the reasons why there is a huge difference between the fee amounts. Many students take up part time jobs to make ends meet, but it is imperative to note that job opportunities are very limited and even those jobs that are available do not give a substantial income. Therefore, they must rely on their own money and be prepared for the expenses.

UCF has five aspects that interest me to attend this school. The first aspect is that the university offers a good program for business seeking degree students. The second aspect is that the university offers programs in different locations in Orlando. The third aspect is that the university has a good athletics system, which has many activities for students to participate in. Another aspect is that the university offers housing for students. The last aspect is that UCF offers transportation services on campus for students that do not own a car or other types of transportation.
The FIG program is valuable to freshman because bridges the gap between the high school experience and the college experience by giving students a middle ground during their first semester. During this time, freshman can get one-on-one help and group help with adjusting to college life and learning how to do everything on campus. The program can also give students an incredible opportunity to make friends in college, when it’s entirely different from high school. Overall, FIGs help freshmen in adjusting to college life in every respect possible.
I have already begun making memories and life long friends that I know I will have for the rest of my life. College is completely different than high school, but the transition has gone very smoothly. Even though it’s only been a little more than a week I believe my professors would describe me as friendly, respectful and excited. Friendly because in both of my classes I have made friends at my tables and have been chatting when allowed. Respectful because when my professors are talking I am sure to give them my full attention and excited because we are all so happy to begin our college experiences and have big smiles on our faces! .
