The myth is called “The Legend of the Fifth Sun”, according to Maestri there was an Aztec god named Ometeolt who gave birth to four sons. Cline stated that Ometeolt was as two different persons with both genders, and two names: Tonacateuctli and Tonacacicatlipoca. He represents the perfect example of being a god showing how powerful they were. (Cline) Maestri mentioned that 600 years later all four sons started creating the universe, which concluded creating the world and all the other gods, given them their respective duties. After everything in the universe was created, with the exception of human lives, they gave life to human beings. As giving light to humans was too difficult and consume of power higher, they had to sacrifice one of the four gods, this god has to kill himself by leaping into a fire. Tezcatliploca which was the god of darkness, night and witchcraft also as the Aztec god of warriors. According to Kay and Gonzales Tezcatliploca and Quetzalcoal worked together and separate to create the cosmos, book also stated that the god of darkness was a deity with the power to see and known thoughts and hearts of all humans, plus he was able be in all places (Read and Gonzales 251). This does not help much, since during this time the world was inhabited by giants who came to an end devoured by jaguars, and they were only able to eat acorns to survive.
