1. Give a short overview describing your field experience.
My field experience observations took place at Discovery Middle School in Mr. Spellerberg’s sixth grade science classroom. I completed my field experience hours in three hour sections on three different days. During each of these days, I was given the opportunity to simply observe Mr. Spellerberg’s classroom. I was able to observe his teaching, the learning of his students, and interactions between him and his students. I felt that the time I spent in my field experience was informative, and I was grateful for being given this opportunity.
2. Does the teacher you are observing belong to any educational associations? If so, which ones and why? Which ones interest you and why?
The teacher I observed did belong to an educational association. He mentioned that he belongs to the North Dakota United teacher’s union. Although he did not mention why he is a member of this specific teacher’s union, I assume he is a member due to the benefits and security it brings him as a teacher. After looking at various educational associations and the benefits of each of them, I found that one educational association that interested me was the National Science Teachers Association. I was interested in this specific association due

The types of professional development opportunities that he participated in have allowed him to grow as a teacher. In addition to professional development workshops, teachers can continue to improve their teaching by simply listening to and observing their students. Based on the feedback they get from students and the observations they make, they can adjust their teaching methods accordingly. Implementing this system in their classroom can benefit them and their
I can help my teachers be professional learners by using observation and evaluation processes, like those found in Danielson’s model, to promote self-assessment, reflection on practices, and professional conversations with them. The Framework can help me have honest, reflective conversations with the teachers about their instruction and I can use it as a guide to help all involved in professional development decisions. In other words, I can use such teacher evaluation models to promote active engagement and encourage professional growth in all
The National Education Association began in 1857 when 43 educators gathered after there was a national call to unite as one voice in the cause of the public education. Nearly one hundred years before the NEA was formed the requirements for teaching were to read, write, and stay out of trouble. This lead to a reform that transformed to the education system we see today, including public schools and professional training for teachers. Even after these changes, many teachers made less than $100 a year, and worked in a one-room schoolhouse. Although education associations existed at the state levels, including 15 of the 31 states in the Union, there was no national organization to serve as a voice for teachers in America. At this time an invitation to the nation’s educators would be sent out to unite and form, as we call it today, the National Education Association.
Field trips are events that most school children look forward to. They mean a day or a few hours away from school to explore an interesting place, what's better than that? Learning based on experience is an important part of a child's education but field trips without structure don't accomplish its benefits. We need programs that incorporate outdoor trips, personal discoveries, and team-based projects in an effective way, this is experiential education. Experiential education programs offer new standards for field trips and a different way of learning. Implementing the programs within traditional classrooms will provide more opportunities for learning.
Last summer, I worked at Project Think, a summer academic program for kids ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. As an assistant teacher, I was to create an environment that would inspire a passion for science. Having a parent as a teacher, I knew how difficult it could be, but I was ready for the challenge. As a science enthusiast, I was determined to make the kids enjoy learning science, even during summer break!
Assessing the interactions that I observed over the last several days, I ascertained the professional development delivery chosen, suitable for this group of educators. Moreover, respect and camaraderie are present in the Willingboro School. Those that are in a leadership role are demonstrating nurturing guidance towards their fellow colleague, teacher, or the maturing students in their care. Thus, as I assess and examine the preliminary draft of the professional development session that I am going to deliver, I believe that I have determined the correct delivery format the lesson study. Additionally, through personal insight, I will explain my views with enough clarity to demonstrate convincing evidence
Bill Henske, my middle school science teacher, has left one of the most profound and lasting impacts on my life, and for that I will forever be indebted to him. The day I discovered that my father signed me up for Field Study—what I referred to as “science camp”—I was furious. It was the summer before I entered the seventh grade, and I would much rather have spent my time lounging by the Maplewood Pool. Looking back on how naive and close minded to this experience at the beginning makes me cringe.
I've always liked sports. Watching them from home though isn't as good as watching at the stadium. Wrigley field the home of the cubs is a good place to be. The first baseball game I went to was when I was about eight years old. The experience was great!
What I noticed with the charts provided is, we all live such different lives, and it is becoming more and more often in our country that, in order for us to achieve success in the business world, we have to observe and learn from the plethora of cultures all around us each and every day. On the other hand, I learned that some industries very from people to people. For example, in This Is an American Workday, by Occupation, it shoes how often people are at the job working and how many are sleeping in selected occupational fields. The chart illustrates the working person in Managing a Business, to the Farmers of America. One culture is more or less in doors, probably pride themselves on cleanliness, while the other has been referred to the back bone of the country, the farmers. They don’t mind getting dirty, in fact it’s well written in the culture that a day’s work should be filled with dirt and soreness to let you know its done write. One takes pride working with their hands, the other, with their mind.
Quote: “Love your Enemies, for they tell you your Faults”. ― Benjamin Franklin Purpose of Field Practicum Field Experience or practicum represents a bridge between the knowledge and experience gained in the classroom for the application to professional social work practice. It is intended as an opportunity for students to observe the application of social work techniques by seasoned professionals, to be mentored by experienced social workers, and to test newly acquired knowledge and skills in an educationally supportive environment (SWFP, 2016). During the practicum experience students are faced with challenges, responsibilities and ethical practices.

In education 2130, we are ask to volunteer our time and do field experience that in return would give back to the community. I choose to do my field experience at Lula Elementary School in Hall County. During my time there I got to observe and watch teachers teach, how they handle children’s behavior and also their classroom management. In the paper I am going to discuss my field experience and what I learned in my time spent in a classroom. I am also going to try and make connections to educational psychology and what I learned in my education class. Also I am going to reflect on my emotional and professional reactions.
The National Staff Development Council (2009) shed more light on professional development in education. The definition put out by the NSDC (2015) in a proposed modification to the elementary and secondary education act, states that professional development is “a comprehensive, sustained and intensive approach to improving
My time observing was not only educational for me on how to become the teacher I desire to be, but as well as how to better myself as a student and improve my own learning. I observed some wonderful learning tools that I have since implemented into my own education to develop my own learning.
In this course I experienced an important change in my beliefs about teaching; I came to understand that there are many different theories and methods that can be tailored to suit the teacher and the needs of the student. The readings, especially those from Lyons, G., Ford, M., & Arthur-Kelly, M. (2011), Groundwater-Smith, S., Ewing, R., & Le Cornu, R. (2007), and Whitton, D., Barker, K., Nosworthy, M., Sinclair, C., Nanlohy, P. (2010), have helped me to understand this in particular. In composing my essay about teaching methods and other themes, my learning was solidified, my knowledge deepened by my research and my writing skills honed.
