The film Batman Begins co written and directed by Christopher Nolan uses the concept of fear and loss to show how people learn to pick themselves up after they fall. Christopher Nolan used Batman’s Journey as a hero to reveal how Bruce Wayne went from a shattered orphaned boy to a justice seeking hero. Through his life he was able to learn from his past and fears and he was able to become whole again. Upon doing so, he was able to live his life without having fear, he was able to finally accept what had happened in the past. Without his fears Batman would have never had become the crime fighter we know today. The film Batman Begins starts off with a young Bruce Wayne scurrying around Wayne Manor with his childhood friend Rachel. Everything seems well up until young Bruce Wayne falls down a well and is then swarmed by a colony of bats, this of course scars and scares the young Bruce Wayne. Due to this fear the young Bruce Wayne becomes frightened when viewing a play with his parents, so they step outside. Upon exiting a man walks up to Bruce’s parents and shoots them down. In prison Bruce Wayne meets a sharp dressed man by the name of Ra’s al Ghul, this man teaches Bruce martial arts and helps Bruce overcome his fear. Due to Ra’s al Ghul’s additional help and guidance he gave to Bruce, this makes him Bruce’s mentor. This helps Bruce become whole again and move on from his past tragedies. Upon this acceptance he is finally able to move on and returns home to Wayne Manor. With his return also comes his return to being the heir of Wayne Enterprises Co.
