FASHION THROUGHOUT EACH DECADE
Fashion is a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories or furniture. In other words is a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style in which a person dresses. In addition fashion defines the true character of a person and their identity. In this essay an attempt will be made to discuss whether fashion is a statement about who people really are throughout the decades. Consumer’s development considering fashion and the impact of present consumption behaviour will be discussed. In addition what fashion consists of and its affiliation to social standard will be explained. Lastly construction of Character through Clothing and Fashion. Finally the conclusion of this hypothesis will be brought forwad
Fashion is a representative making. As a concept it is different from clothing, which is viewed as a solid production and something that fulfils indicates functionality in linking to our physical pleasures. According to Max-Neef (1992), Mental human needs are as follows understanding, affection, understanding and participation, creation. Fashion allows the identification of likes and sense of style. People can be specified in their different social groups and class. Fashion stands for creativity and beauty of ones sense of style. There are different fashion desires and consumer clothing choices. Tischler(2004) expresses that garments are not objects but acts. therefore we must reflect on clothes as an aspect of the social interaction process. This relates to fashion being an important foundation to building ones identity.
