Recommended: Family as a culture

This assignment was particularly interesting to me because I never bothered to ask my parents about my heritage or traditions passed down but I’ve always wanted to know. I had some difficulties on finding out what to do for my symbols and at first my parents didn’t have an ideas either. Luckily, we found some ideas and I’m glad I could to learn about my family and Greek heritage. The symbol categories I have chose are heritage, heirloom, and something a family member is known for. For my first symbol I chose the Greek food Balaclava to represent my Greek heritage. My great aunt’s mother was from Greece and traveled to America. She taught my great aunt how to make balaclava and now it is a family tradition to cook it every Christmas. The
