In the movie “Facing the Giants”, Grant Taylor is the head coach of the Eagles football team. Throughout the movie Grant is constantly tested and put through hard times with his work, family, and faith. At work his team is never winning a game, even though they practice all the time and try their best to win. His position as head coach is being questioned on whether or not he is fit to run a football team and whether or not he can bring the team to state this year. At home him and his wife have been trying to start a family for a couple years with no luck. Everything in their house is breaking down, there is a disgusting smell coming from an unknown source, and his car never works anymore. Between the troubles at home and at work, he finds that his faith is constantly being tested and has even started to lose his faith in God. When he has finally hit rock bottom, he finds hope and faith in reading the bible and trusting in God. Grant develops a new coaching plan to inspire his players to believe in God and trust that he will help them through as long as they believe in themselves and God’s plan. They praise him in success and failure, and eventually win the state championship with the help of God’s grace. Grant gets a raise in his salary, he receives a new truck as a present, and his wife becomes pregnant. When they doubted themselves as a team and their faith in God, they never won a game. But when they prayed and praised God in every aspect of their lives, there was a difference in their attitudes, sportsmanship, and school work.
