Within a school we need to make sure that information available for a child or young personal is age appropriate. We should be able to provide information for bullying, sexual health, drug use and other information that mite be appropriate for the individuals. We should ensure this information is easy to access and that if they have concerns they are able to and understand they are aloud to ask for advice from the services available as well as school staff who may choose to refer them on to the best service. We are always encouraging children and young people to make decisions in their everyday life it may be small or bigger choices. We can support them and guide them by making decisions through different school activities, through play for young children and by introducing this skills in the class room. These can be from choosing a partner for an activity them self or a group. To being set a time to complete a task in their group work ( are they more likely to gossip and mess around or work hard and make the choice to complete their task). The young person will need to find the confidence, be reminded that it is OK if you do something and feel you need help to get out of it that you can always get out of a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable. They need to be given this information throughout school of safety, what to do if they feel they are stuck and know that its OK and you can over come any situation as long as you ask for support.
