Franklin D. Roosevelt went through many hardships but has made many achievements. Roosevelt led the U.S. through World War Two, he had Polio and made the New Deal which helped many people. Roosevelt made a big impact on the United States economy and warfare. Roosevelt leading the United States through WWII had many effects. The first effect is he led the U.S. away from isolationism. The U.S. did not want to get involved with the other country's business because they were still in the great depression. He wanted to change that because he wanted to make the U.S. stronger. The second effect is that it made the citizen’s support him more because he didn't go into the war without the support of his people. The citizen’s opinions mattered very much to him. The third effect it had is that he defeated the dictators and made the U.S. a superpower again. He gave the Allies weapons, money, and equipment in order for them to defeat the Axis powers. As you can see, these are the effects of Roosevelt leading the U.S. through WWII. …show more content…

The first effect is he was the first president with a notable handicap. He got polio at the age of thirty-nine before he was in the political career. He started to gain confidence from his family in the political career so he ran in the election to be the head of New York and won, he stayed for two terms. The second effect is the citizen’s felt compassion towards him because even though he had polio he wanted to become president. Roosevelt having polio only made citizens feel pity towards him and cheered him on. Many citizen’s encouraged him, the result was him being determined to become president. The third effect was that it improved him as a leader and man. It made him more fearless, he helped the people who also had polio, he bought a hot spring for them.
