My strength in the physical dimension in exercise because my job is physical, which involves frequently lifting objects and moving around. When the weather permits I bike to work to save on gas. I consider this dimension to be not particularly important because most of these aspects are automatic. Currently I work night shift and at least half of the week I get to sleep only three to four hours before going to school. I sleep then an extra four hours after school, but it doesn’t feel particularly comfortable. Driving costs more money, but if I perhaps recalculate my expenses I might have enough money for gas and sleep at least half an hour longer.
For the social dimension, interacting with friends at work makes work more enjoyable and less

Several months ago I started a programming project that uses linear algebra to generate 3D tree models which so far has involved studying principles of software design, shading techniques, and some botany. I want to become a programmer, which means I have to be good at processing information to uncover patterns, and therefore intellectual health is fairly to important to me. I have always had a desk, paper, pens, pencils, an internet connection and access to libraries. Since my parents aren’t paying for my college expenses, community college and tuition reimbursement has enabled me to attend college anyways. Setting a timer before starting my homework might reduce procrastination and help me get everything done on time.
My strength for the occupational dimension is that I have a job and won’t need to borrow money to attain my Associate’s degree. This dimension is really important because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to afford to go to school and I would be stuck in the union for the rest of my life doing remedial work. It’s a part-time job, so I still have time to spend studying, and I also receive tuition reimbursement. During the winter break there’s usually enough work to work full time. I could strengthen this dimension by starting to search for internships during the summer
Physical health deals with life choices that can either harm or help the user’s body. My physical health relays around sports such as basket-ball, Soccer, Discus throwing, Shot-put throwing, and weight lifting. My strengths in physical health is my exercising, caring for my body, and avoiding non healthy behaviors. I make sure my body is in athletic shape so I can conquer any athletic challenge in my path of life. My Weaknesses are eating healthy and getting enough sleep. This is due to a busy schedule and family meals. One of my weaknesses in athleticism is my pull ups, I used to not be able to do one single pull up but I’ve managed to do two pull ups at current athletic shape. I am continuing to lose weight of body fat while gaining weight in muscle.

In America alone, only about 51% of Americans exercise 3 or more times a week, and 18% exercise only 1 to 2 times a week (Shy). 30% of American sadly doesn’t do any type of extracurricular activity or exercise at all (Blackburn). For the people who don’t exercise, try to because you can really only benefit from it. The one’s that already do know the health benefits for exercising. Aside from just exercising, one activity or activities you could do is weight lifting/strength training. Most people don’t think about this but strength training is actually a big key for exercise.

Learning that having good time management skills has shown me that I can take my time and accomplish more. When relating this to school, I can honestly say that starting early is the best gift that I can give myself. As a full-time student with a family and a full-time job, my time is a limited resource (Britton & Tesser, 1991 pg.405). When I start early on an assignment, I don't have to rush and if I mess up, I can start over or seek help if necessary. My work schedule doesn’t always agree with my school schedule but for the most part, I try to have all of my school work completed by Thursday. As I'm approaching the last week in this class, I have began to look over the discussion posts first and then I look over the complete section to familiarize myself with the material before I even go to the read section (Chambers, 2015 pg.4). I found that to be especially helpful when I first began this class because the things that I already knew or felt like I knew, I went ahead and did it.
Weightlifting and powerlifting may sound the same, but they are not as similar as many people think. Apart from weightlifting being an Olympic sport and powerlifting not, there are many differences. Weightlifting and powerlifting have different movements, amounts of flexibility, and ways to hold the bar.
Scheduling and planning are necessary to be successful as a working student. Setting time aside for school assignments is a priority, but it is also important to build in personal time for you, your family, and friends (Blais & Hayes, 2011). S...
The value placed on the importance of winning in professional sports has hit an all-time high. The astronomical amount of money being spent in the entertainment field of athletics has dictated a win-at-all-costs mentality that has trickled all the way down to negatively affect our youngest athletes - the prepubescent. The athletic world has forever been exploiting our youth as a source of athletic potential, sacrificing the health, safety and welfare of these child-athletes to satiate the intense nationalistic pride of the country and more dishearteningly in the name of the Almighty Dollar. This has caused coaches and athletes to take drastic measures which are sometimes illegal and usually unethical in order to improve performance levels. One of the most controversial training practices center around the impact of strength training in prepubescent children.
On any given day, my time regardless of how planned it is by making lists can be thrown off track due to usually a sick child/pet. No matter how hard I try, I know my kids will get sick and they will expect me to take care of. Since I cannot usually control when that will happen, it’s important that I take advantage of what I can control, such looking ahead at assignments that will need my attention to plan adequate time to complete assignments a head of time, instead of waiting till the last minute. When I know what to expect I can make plans. Another
...rs tend to overestimate the degree of unpleasantness of a task” (Lay, 46). Procrastination is a problem that when left unchecked can cause serious problems in every aspect of a person’s life. The solution for students can be as easy as sticking to a goal or as hard as denying themselves a prize when they missed the deadline on a project. The type of solution a person uses depends on what works best for that student, but a schedule to help stay goal positioned never hurt.
Everyone has daily burdens and responsibilities that they would prefer to avoid rather than begin. For college students that burden becomes anything relating to college academics, from homework assignments, to essays due next week, or projects. However, by delaying the time necessary to complete an assignment or to write a well and comprehensible essay. Students are putting their physical well being at risk.
When it comes to our personal and professional lives, Managing your time efficiently should be a mastered ability. As a student, this could have a huge effect on performance and grades. Seeing that Time Management is imperative when it comes to college and success, recognizing bad habits, should be one of the first obstructions immediately eliminated from your daily schedule. Create new habits if you tend to procrastinate and start planning ahead to manage your most important priorities. Setting up deadlines and completing your assignments a few days before the due date will eliminate the procrastination stage.
