While a good exercise regime can help us lead a long and healthy life, a random selection of exercises without considering one’s age and medical conditions can mess up overall health and bring in previously non exitent health issues. It is of utmost importance to study the physiological characteristics of the body before suggesting an exercise regimen. In a nutshell, the study of physiology helps us understand how living things work. In the case of human beings, it helps us understand how cells, organs and muscles work and interact. Starting from the molecular level, physiology helps us look at the integrated functions of the body.
Experts also study the responses of the body to a range of physical activities; mostly physical exercise. Studying how exercise affects the overall pathological system is becoming common in today’s world with experts looking closely at how exercise can revrse the progress of a disease. Such professionals are called exercise physiologists and they are fast becoming as popular as doctors and chiropractors.
