Memory failures occur when we are processing memories but the we do not process correctly because related words are associated together or events are mixed up. Moments where memory failures might occur are court cases, school presentations, and during work. There have been moments where I have mixed up events because they happened so fast. Whenever I am very fast paced while doing assignments at the same time I tend to mix up the assignments. This tends to happen in cases where a person is put in front of a group of people to see who it was who assaulted them. This was about the case in the Ted talk with Elizabeth Loftus where she was in interested in the case where Steve Tidis was stopped because he was in a similar car as a rape culprit, and he looked similar to the rapist.A photo line up of him, and the rapist was shown to the victim which said his looks were the closest to the rapist. After that he was taken to court where she said yes he was the rapist which was intriguing. She went from maybe to yes really quick. Most people in jail have been falsely accused because a witness thinks they saw the person. I believe there should be a protocol of how cases should be preceded over because there is this possibility. There is the possibility of memories being implanted not intentionally in the people testifying because the person looked like the person so of course if they look like him it is him. Elizabeth was speaking about how she has done experiments implanting memories of how someone got bit by an animal when they were a younger age or they used word associating after they showed someone a accident then use words like hit or smash. The researchers caused these people to believe that the scenario with the dog actually happened which may cause them to not like that certain animal later
