1984 is a book that could be very relevant to people. It can draw comparisons to current life in America or other places with different governments as well. The use of big brother can be be seen in the novel and in the real world with multiple examples. Big brother can be seen as our government in which many people believe we are being watched constantly throughout our lives. It can be seen as an exaggerated form of the surveillance that actually happens in the world and can be seen as to what freedoms we actually do have compared to the citizens in the novel.
