Prior to the arrival of the Europeans, Africa had many successful civilizations that were already prominent. Civilizations such as Ghana, Askum, and the Mali Empire had already attained wealth, as well as equitable judicial systems, a substantial time period before the arrival of the Europeans. Therefore, it is concluded that even before the arrival of the Europeans, the Africans had already achieved advanced civilizations that were affluent, contained a structured government, and that had contained a strong culture that was already prevalent without the aid of European Settlers. Preexisting the arrival of the Europeans, many African civilizations had already gained affluence through trade and geographical luck. For example, this is further proven by the expense that the Timbuktu king had spent to import educators, doctors, priest, and more all in an attempt to improve the social welfare of his civilization. Though all of the various civilizations vary in how they practice this idea, this clearly one that is a pattern throughout all of the cultures of the African civilizations. In summary, it is clearly evident that the African civilizations were well on their way to developing to an even higher level than their European counterparts prior to their interference. Through their highly complex civilizations, the Africans exemplified their advances in social welfare programs, ability to simulate a strong economy, and put an effective government in place. Therefore, it is concluded that the Europeans had certainly achieved much in their peak years, and perhaps could have gotten even further than their European counterparts, had they been given more time to
