Arco is the UK and Ireland’s leading supplier of personal protective equipment, workwear and workplace safety products, with an extensive reach to customers through product catalogues (over 22,000 products from over 40 brands), interactive website, local sales offices and a 48 strong trade centre network.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer customers, great availability, performance and price as well as access to tailored training and consultancy services.
3. What were the objectives and how have they been achieved?
It is Arco’s mission to keep people safe at work. Fatal injuries have decreased year on year since 2010/11 from 122 to 99 in 2014/15. We like to think we have played a part in this with a comprehensive range of protective equipment, training facilities and extensive customer support.

6. Can you give any other reasons as to why this deserves to win an award for this category?
We are Ethical:
As a member of the ETI alliance of companies and fully subscribe to the ETI’s Nine Principles Base code and have fully incorporated the internationally recognised code of labour practice into our own ethical policy. In 2007 Arco was the first distributor in our industry to become a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and in 2010 we became a member of Sedex, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange. We continually support local communities and charities donating in excess of 1% of pre tax profits annually.

As members of the BSIF Registered Safety Suppliers Scheme customers can be confident that we will supply safety equipment which is genuine and compliant with the relevant standards and regulations.
