In conclusion the Vikings were an intelligent society who strivGood Morning Mrs Kent and fellow classmates. I am here to inform you that studying the Viking society is more important than the Shogun society. Firstly I will talk about the Vikings daily life. The Vikings daily life consisted of work which was usually self sufficient. Farming was very important as most Vikings were hunters and gatherers. Vikings usually owned or rented farming land to harvest food such as fruit and vegetables and would breed animals to feed off. The main jobs around the village were farming, woodwork, metalwork and boat building . A most impressive aspect of daily life with the Vikings was that women enjoyed some rights which were not common in these times. Women could inherit property, they could seek a divorce and reclaim It also consisted of a helmet crafted out of iron and another element of the Vikings armor was warlike clothing made of different materials such as leather, bronze, paper and cotton. The final element of a Vikings armor was their round or kite shield and their tribal badge. Vikings weaponry consisted of bows and arrows which was made out of Yew, Elm or Ash which was common trees in the Scandinavian area. The spear was the most common Viking weapon which consisted of metal heads, mounted on wooden shafts of two to three metres in length, and was typically made from ash wood. There was two distinct types of Viking knives - the first type was an ordinary single edged knife which could be used for hunting or battle. The Viking name for the blade was a knife.
