Since at least the time of the ancient Greeks, there has been considerable debate about exactly how the Egyptians constructed Pharaoh Khufu's Great Pyramid of Giza. Like many others who are amazed and wonder at this immense structure, I believe some type of extraordinary forces or technologies were used to build it. We know the Egyptians were an advanced culture for their time however it appears they received assistance from a greater intelligence to be able to build these monuments. According to physicist and author, John Zajac (“After Dark” Vol.1 No.2 February 1995) “The world's oldest structure (the Great Pyramid) is so advanced that it can't be duplicated today, even using current technology.” Seven Wonders of the World were described by Greek scholars around the 4th century BCE. These included the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, and the Great Pyramid. Of all these wondrous structures, the oldest by far, the Great Pyramid, is the only one remaining and its design, purpose and construction has been a source of debate for centuries. A story from The Arabian Nights from the 8th century AD, tells how “the Great Pyramid was reputed to have magical qualities...” (Peter Tompkins, Secrets of the Great Pyramid, 1978, p.6). The 10th century Arabian historian, Abul Hasan Ali Al-Masudi, was amazed by the magnificence of the Egyptian pyramids and wrote in his huge history of the world about how the giant stone blocks were moved. He described a “magic paper being placed under the block to be moved. Then the block was struck with a metal rod that caused the huge block to rise up in the a... ... middle of paper ... ...e an advanced form of technology such as levitation? Perhaps the Egyptians received technological assistance from extraterrestrial beings who might also provide information about the alignment of the stars. However, it seems more believable to consider that the advanced technology and knowledge originated on our planet. There very well could have been an advanced human civilization in the distant past and this civilization could have been wiped out by natural forces during the last Ice Age. Furthermore, records of the technology and astronomical knowledge of this advanced human culture could have been available to the Egyptians. Therefore, I think the most reasonable explanation provided by the evidence given, is there must have been an advanced human culture, pre-dating written history, involved in the design and technology in order to build the Great Pyramid.
