When new land was found in the Americas and countries started to explore the oceans, that brought different cultures meeting others resulting in trade, war, and cultures revamping. As we focus on the Aztec and Indian Empires, they share similar social stratifications and religious beliefs during their time. However, they differ in religious beliefs especially in the area regarding taxes. Throughout this paper the two empires will be compared and contrasted in three different areas, social stratifications, political and political structures. The Aztec empire which started sometime around 1325, where the Mexica were one of many Nahua peoples who spoke the Nahuatl language (Hansen, 2014, pp. 404-407). “With agriculture being the ultimate basis of Mughal wealth and power, providing 90% of the tax income that paid for Mughal armies and the ceremonial pomp of the court at Delhi. The Mughals sent tax collectors out to providences, who surveyed the lands and diverted much of the revenue to Delhi. In certain areas where the old rulers’ rights were 10% of the local revenue, and ensured their loyalty” (Hansen, 2014, p. 443). “This revenue system, controlled from the top but with recognition of the prerogatives of local rulers, was part of a broader Mughal attempt to integrate existing Indian authorities into their government” (Hansen, 2014, p. 443). Throughout this paper the comparison and contrast between the Aztec and Indian empires are prevailing. The difference between the religious views is the most unique area of topic. The Aztecs cared more about what their people were worshipping than the Indian empire who did not pay any mind as long as the work was being completed. Both empires have similar social and political structures. Each empire did not leave room for movement up in the social structure. The political structures were similar but more so different because of the extent of taxes the India empire
