California is one of the major states that contains a vast population of people in the United States. It is known to contain big cities, celebrities, and movies. In fact, it is also a state that contains thousands of people living in poverty. I conducted an analysis on Santa Cruz county cities Santa Cruz and Watsonville. In my findings, I saw that Santa Cruz is considered to be the wealthy city, whereas Watsonville is the poorest within the county. Furthermore, the data from both cities shows the disparities between Watsonville to Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is becoming an uprising wealthy city with the help of its tourist attractions, living accommodations, businesses, etc. Santa Cruz contains a population of 63,364. In addition, I saw that their household income is at $60,207, per capita $29, 598, and median gross rent $1,546. This shows that people in Santa Cruz would have to get a good paying job to maintain living in this city. In addition, white people(63.4.%) are prominent living in this city with Hispanics(20.8%) following who reside in this city. Moreover, I was curious to see where Santa Cruz is at Education wise since UCSC is resided there. 92.8% have a high school diploma, 51.5% have a Bachelor's degree, and 22.99% have a graduates degree. Data clearly shows that people are more stabilized in Santa Cruz, and the city is well invested because of numerous attractions and resources it obtains. On the other hand, Watsonville does not have a lot of jobs or resources to help people go ahead besides college. Evidently, people in Watsonville drop out of school to help their families with financial hardships that out them in this cycle that they can not get out of, and it’s clearly portrayed.
