Civil disobedience played a huge role in history. Many things have happened that have changed an enormous amount of people's lives and changed the world for eternity. African Americans were greatly affected in the 1900s and the years before then. The two important people that changed the world, even after their deaths, are Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks.

Martin Luther King Jr., the leader of the nonviolent Civil Rights Movement, was not a president, but he had lots of goals to achieve, especially his dream. He had a dream of a society where race was not a problem in how people were treated and how they lived their lives. She was not out to change history, but it happened. She found something was not going in the right direction during her living and decided to make a change about it. In the 1950s, Rosa herself got into a problem, she refused to give her seat to a white man. Because of this action, she chose to get arrested instead of getting into a bigger problem, she felt was unnecessary. She didn’t want to follow the rule because she was tired of giving in. Rosa’s arrest lead the black community of Montgomery to boycott the bus system. Later, she fought to change rights for equal treatment of people regardless of their race. She proved that it’s possible to go against an unjust law. Rosa was recognized as a woman with dignity and strength in the dedication to end racial segregation. Both of these important life changing people made a change. They encouraged everyone to stand up for themselves and what they believe in. African Americans now have more right benefits, they have a chance to become strong and independent pedestrians. Both Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks became leaders because they hated to see the world fall apart over racial
