As their relationship continued to grow, Reagan asked Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Though Gorbachev did not want to do this at first, after almost two and a half years, he destroyed the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was a communist sign which is why Reagan felt the need to ask that it be destroyed. When the process of destroying the Berlin Wall began, Reagan’s time in the Whitehouse was over. The destruction of the Berlin Wall was a milestone for Reagan, and so once he had left office, he took a trip to Berlin to take on the honor of destroying the wall. This system was also put into place to help businesses boom. Reagan felt that by lowering taxes, more and more businesses would begin seeing growth and development for the companies. All in all though, Reagan wanted to see the economy grow. Reagan’s ultimate goal with the use of Reaganomics was to ensure America that they would once again see better days, and that financial issues would disappear soon. Though it took some time, America did begin to see more desirable days as the depression began to come to a close. Reagan strongly disliked the government. He felt that all of the problems America faces were the fault of the government system. Reagan removed many companies government regulations because he felt that in return, costs would come down a substantial amount. he also felt that the process of deregulation would be another way to help Americans, since they would hopefully be gaining more money.
