Renewable Energy (Wind Power)
What powers our vehicles, lights our cities, warms our homes, cooks our food, plays our music, gives us television, helps our world improve and make us grow into strong individuals? Energy is the answer. Energy is the ability to do work. It is all around us, and it’s used to generate objects. There are renewable and non-renewable energies. Non-renewable resources are decreasing, and coming close to running out. Some non-renewable resources are fossil fuels. Companies and factories are burning fossils to release chemical energy that is stored within these resources. The burned energy is then used to power machines, used as electricity, or heat energy. Fossil Fuels contain high percentages of carbon, including coal, petroleum, and natural gas. They hurt the environment. Instead of burning fossil fuels, wind power could be used. Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy. So, instead of burning fossil fuels and hurting the environment, we should use wind power, which is a renewable, and cleaner energy source.
Wind power is used to make electrical power, windmills, or wind pumps. Wind power is also known as wind turbines. Wind turbines work the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to generate wind, wind turbines use wind to generate electricity. Wind power is used globally, but especially in the U.S., China, UK, France, Canada, Great Britain, Spain, Germany, and India. In the 2000s, U.S. was on top of the charts for using wind power. China was second, but rapidly expanded its wind installations, and passed the U.S. in 2010 to become the top country to use wind power. There were over 200,000 wind turbines within 79 countri...

...materials like coal, results in destruction of wide areas of land. Mining the resources endanger the lives of miners, and is difficult. On the other hand, wind power generates electricity with no air emissions, no require mining, no transportation of fuels, and there is no waste.
Energy is used everyday, in different ways. As time passes by, non-renewable energy sources are running out slowly. They are becoming harder to find, so these non-renewable resources are becoming more expensive. What will happen if these resources ran out? Since these resources are running out, such as oil or fossil fuels, people are finding ways to make renewable energy resources. Wind power is great to be used instead of fossil fuels. A suggestion would be wind power. It should be used more, since it is cleaner, cheaper, plentiful, free, produces no waste, and requires little land.
