Native Americans have influenced the society of American culture, even in its current state. Several examples; such as political documents, the statistics, and other samples will be used in order to inform on how the Native Americans impacted America. Specifically, the two genres will be used based on the Northwest Ordinance for the political documents and the population will be for the statistics. These given details will be explain on the argument, ‘how did the Native Americans influence America?’. They consist of facts of the development for the Natives and whites’ culture and how their relationship stood.

Their statistics have shown to have dramatically decrease over time after the whites have settled in America. Shown on a graph for examples, during 1700, Native Americans reduced from over 10,000 to around 8,000. As time over passed, like in 1780, numbers were low to about 2,000 Native Americans. European nations and the such have been known to expand their own kind in the United States, causing the Native Americans to give up their land and move towards west. One example of this would be the tribes that lived in Louisiana, as the whites took their territories away from them. Of course, the two sides of Natives and whites had different views of claiming the land, so it resulted in a struggling relationship between them, such as small raids and attacks. The government, though, created several treaties for them to settle in peace. Eventually the Native Americans population died, mostly because of diseases and fights they interacted with the white settlers.

In conclusion, the Native Americans have affected the United States of America even if it may not seem like it. Narrowing the ideas down, this can be concluded: Native Americans and whites had a troublesome relationship and because of that, they formed what America is today. Native Americans had to give up their lands and head out west due to the American government. Fights and treaties had occurred alongside the way of their situations, such as the Northwest Ordinance that included the Northwest Indian War. It also affected the statistics population of Native Americans in the United States. Diseases and fights resolved in many deaths of the Native Americans, dramatically decreasing the whole Native Americans population total. The main timing and reason was colonization. As the European settlers began to colonize the Americas, they saw that they could use the Natives and treat them however they wanted because it was free or low-costly labor. The ill treatment of these people caused many to rebel and revolt against the colonists, or in many circumstances, it caused the Native populations to decline dramatically in numbers. This decimation of the Native American populations left small amounts of people to care for the land, shaping the United States’ environment for future generations. This is part of the reason why many Natives felt resentment to the colonists both in the present time and the future. The order that many of the events happened also affected the issues that first caused the colonization of the Americas.

All so called "Native Americans," were once immigrants. There were two waves of immigration between the early 1800’s through the early 1900’s. The first wave of immigrants called the "old immigrants" came to America between 1890-1897. They were primarily from Northern Europe: Great Britain, Germany, and Scandinavia. The second wave of immigrants called the "new immigrants" came to America from 1897-1924. The "new immigrants" primarily came from Southern and Eastern Europe countries such as Poland, Russia, and Italy. Nativist parties, like the Know-Nothings and the Order of the Star Spangled Banner verbalized their distaste and disapproval of immigrants. Actions and regulations against immigration did not begin until near the end of the "old immigration" and the beginning of the "new immigration." Nativists had many fears and concerns regarding immigrants. These concerns included being socially ill-suited to live with the older stock Americans, stealing jobs from the native work force, and bringing new, radical ideas to the country. These fears and concerns caused nativists to come up with schemes to keep immigrants out of the country. These strategies had a great impact on immigration in our country.

As for the Indians, their attitude was always friendly and full of curiosity when they saw the strange and light-skinned creatures from beyond the ocean. The colonists only survived with the help of the Indians when they first settler in Jamestown and Plymouth. In this areas, the Indians showed the colonists how to cultivate crops and gather seafood.The Indians changed their attitude from welcome to hostility when the strangers increased and encroached more and more on hunting and planting in the Natives’ grounds.
