Motorcycles are two wheeled motor vehicles. That come in a lot of different designs for different purposes. A Dirt-Bike is a bike for off trailing which has stronger materials to withstand drops and the wheels are rugged for better grip.Sport bikes and Cruisers have wheels that are slim, better for roads. There are many types of motorcycle but the focus is what makes them run, a Four-stroke engine. A Four-stroke engine has different parts to how it works. The basics are the intake where the piston is at the top dead center then moves to the bottom. While the piston is down the intake valve open letting in fuel-air mixture inside. Then a spark is created making an explosion . This moves this piston making the back wheel move and the other valve opens letting exhaust out then it accelerates and increase speed.
Origins
Motorcycles have been around since 1869. The first one made was made by a American named Sylvester Howard Roper. He made a steam powered bike that had two cylinders. He made it in 1823-1896.The bike was a velocipede, this was a older kind of bike that when you pedal the front wheel moves not like today when the back wheel moves. It runs by explosions of a fuel and air mixture that are ignited by a spark. Valves open and close allowing a fuel-air mixture to enter the combustion chamber. The spark ignites the fuel air mixture making a explosion that explosion moves the piston downwards .The explosion makes exhaust which needs to be taken out. The other valve opens and lets out the exhaust . That goes on in a cycle over and over making the pistons move making the back wheel
