It was Freshman year, and I was already feeling nervous to go to a high school. I have always been imagining what I will experience for the next four years, thinking that it will be like one of those high school movies involving the jocks and the nerds, but that will most likely never happen. I was just some student who mostly acts quiet around people. I do have some friends, but not a lot unlike the popular kids. I also don't have a bunch of muscle in my body, so I don't expect myself to be the quarterback of the football team. I have always wanted to join the high school marching band because I have been doing so well as being the top chair of my trumpet section in middle school. I wanted to face a new challenge for my musical experience, since I was ahead of the game of my band classmates. I meet the group at the band room, seeing so many students who have the same passion as I do. First things first, our director handed out the sheet music. I felt excited, hoping that I will receive trumpet one section music, keeping the trumpet one streak I had since middle school. As the director hands the music to the trumpets, my anticipation grew before I saw what the music I received was for. "Trumpet 3." My mind went blank as I read that. Not just the fact that I lost my streak, but also the fact that I put so much effort in middle school, now I have just been punched in the gut down to the lower rankings.
