ARGUMENT EXPLAINING WHY THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION DUD NOT TAKE PLACE IN AFRICA.

Industrial revolution refers to the rapid growth or expansion of the industry in Europe in 18th and 19th century mainly in the manufacturing, transportation, economic and the social structure and its policies. Also it was brought out by the introduction of machinery as it removes the hand tools which people in the society have been using with power driven machines. The revolution has been greatly recognised as the economy developing from primary to secondary and tertiary industries, in compliance to that man was replaced with machine (www.history.com). Realistically, industrialisation was caused by various factors but the main factors are the geographical environment
Africa was poor in literacy, and as rich in literacy stimulates the technological development and scientific development which can lead to industrialisation and modernisation. Africa had little knowledge accumulation (R&D, innovation, technology) and poor Human capital formation (Educated, skilled workforce, enough capable labour force). As mass education and literacy is an important element for the industrial revolution, and Africa was mainly recognised through poor in providing these elements. In Africa the transformation of the raw materials into highly productive products was very inefficient as the human capital formation was below the standard and in Europe the literacy was very standardised as the mass education leads to flourishes trade and accountants were playing a major role in compiling the trade transaction which enables the industrialisation to increase the rapid development.( Van Zanden
In this juxta the Europeans were so very educated and very clever than the Africans and they were taking that as the advantage to get what they need from the Africans. Clearly it closes the argument why the industrialisation did not take place in Africa.
