Illegal Racing Among Students
I agree with the piece by Balvin Kaur “ During the operation, some of them rode against traffic flow in their bid to escape from us. But they could not escape”, he said. (The Star, September 7). I like on what authorities had done to the illegal racing, they were very strict toward them. The illegal racing gives many effects to society such as, it can cause the traffic jam. Besides, illegal racing is danger to others and it can tarnish our country reputation.
The illegal racing will cause traffic jam, when authorities make roadblocks and the illegal racer trying to escape from them. Therefore, their action can cause traffic jam at the road and wasting their time. Some of them, would like to be rushing to their

The illegal racers exposed their self to dangerous . Some of them cost their life with dangerous bike ride for example trying to escape from police road block and fight with police. Street racers are not only risking their lives, but they are also putting innocent pedestrian lives at risk. Having people race their cars in neighborhood is just not an option.
However, the illegal street racing activities always happen in our country. This will make the youngster careless about our country development, just because of the increasing cases like murdered, rapist and robbers who involved in the illegal street racing. As a result, our country's economy will step backward in tourism and the economy will decrease besides lacking in numbers of young quality employees due to their involvement in this immoral activity.
So as users, teenagers, parents, society and government let us take an action to overcome this illegal racing. Let us stand up and cooperate to prevent the illegal racing and show the riders the right ways to use the road. I believe that government is serious and conscientious to against irresponsible riders for illegal racing. It can become worse if we do not take any
The Anti-saloon league museum is a standing testament of a period long gone. Located within the Westerville Ohio library, it houses important artifacts and memorabilia from the Prohibition era. At the height of its popularity, the league was a national organization which boasted branches across the United States.4. Along with various Christian organizations, the league was able to marshal resources that enabled it to bring the prohibition fight to congress and the senate. Tours and group presentations expose curious visitors to the inner workings of the league. Video footage taken from the height of the organizations power allows onlookers to explore the conditions that led to the ban on alcohol being enforced to such a magnitude. Newspaper clippings detailing speakeasy shutdowns and police confrontations with moonshine runners are hung along the walls of the museum.
In the latest years, greyhound racing has gained negative media attention, whereas in 2015 the abc four corners revealed that several owners and trainers were using live baits as a training form for the dog to gain a competitive advantage (Hanna, & Clark, 2015). Another issue concerning the sustainability of the industry is the mass greyhound killings because they were considered too slow (Hanrahan, 2016). Due to all the issues concerning the industry, New South Wales were set to ban Greyhound racing in 2016. Nevertheless, the ban got overturned due to political populism and the economic benefits and the numerous livings the sport provides for. The government now searches for other solutions to make the industry more sustainable. Still, frustrated
On top of that there are also some hefty fines that will help a driver learn his or her lesson. The average speeding ticket in the US is 150 dollars, but the faster a person drives the more costly a speeding ticket becomes. Drivers have the choice to fight their citation in court instead of just paying the fine, a lot of speeding drivers often do. If the driver decides to do this, the officer then assigns them a traffic court date. Drivers who take their fine to court normally do so because they disagree with the reason they were pulled over or believe they have a justifiable explanation for speeding. There is not good reason for speeding hence the saying “better late than never”. A driver who goes to court usually ends up paying the fine they received in the first place along with court fees. Not to mention the effects a speeding ticket has on one’s insurance. Just one speeding ticket can skyrocket an average policy holder’s premium as much as 22 percent according to an analysis of over 490,000 policy quotes. There are a lot of things that money could be spent on than a speeding ticket. Most states also employ a points system and when an individual acquires a certain amount of points (ten points in most states) the state will suspend an individual’s license. Now the driver can take a Defensive Driving course to deduct 2 points from their record, this can be done once every 24
Have you ever been to a horse race? Seeing the riders give their horses a pat and an apple after the race, people cheering for their horse as it runs rapidly to the finish line? Seems like a great time. But what happens to those horses after they are done their race. What happens to the people who gambled their family’s lives savings. All horse racing should be shut down due to the well being of the horses, the effects of gambling, and the lack of interest.
Id. Alonso did not want to get in the car, so he told them he could not leave his house at that moment. Id. They told him they would be going to pick up a “friend.” Id. Uncertain of what the two gang members’ motives were, Alonso again refused to drive because he feared there was a chance they might be intending to hurt whoever they were going to pick up. Id. Upon hearing this, one of the gang members brandished a knife and threatened to hurt Alonso if he didn’t follow their commands. R. at 9. At this, Alonso got in the driver’s seat and drove where they instructed him.
The increasing penalties for getting caught as a drunk driver have increased over the years. The government has taken measures to educate teenagers about the dangers of drinking and driving and the many lives that could be lost. Schools such as Los Amigos High School have taken the responsibility to educate these teens towards the dangers of drinking and driving with the assistance of The National Every 15 Minutes Organization (www.every15minutes.com). This organization seeks to give students the opportunity to feel first hand the effects of drinking and driving with out the risk. Measures such as the ones taken through the Every 15 Minutes Organization would not be taken if the institutions and people had not sought to end prohibition and still try to protect the lives of those that they care about.

There is a need for the introduction and implementation of new drunk driving laws by the legislature, because presently the united States drunk driving laws are too lenient. The continuous rate of drunken driving fatalities makes a case that the united States drunk driving laws are too lenient and makes a call for stricter laws. According to Valenti “countries with strict drunk driving penalties have a far lower incidence of accidents than the United States (1). The United States being a first world country is weak in enforcing strict punishment for drunk drivers. Valenti is emphasizing on the fact that the united States need to improve their present laws and be firm in enforcing these new laws. There is a need for the United States to improve on their severity of its drunk driving penalties just the way the other part of the world have done and this is giving them a reduced rate of drunk driving fatalities. The claim of the leniency of the United States drunk driving laws is further stated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this is a prominent body when it comes to the issue of drunken driving fatalities. It claims that the drunken driving laws are severe enough. “Despite great strides in awareness, education and enforcement in the last two decades the United States still has one of the most lenient drunken driving standards in the world”. (NHTSA of existing laws. There is a need for stricter laws to be introduced as the United States ranks behind the world when it comes to effort to combat drunk driving and more efforts need to be put in place by the implementation of harsher laws so as to reduce the high rate of repeat offenders and first time offenders.
Race and crime is a major topic in today’s world because it is a highly debated subject and has a major impact on how society is today. Race and crime go hand in hand. No matter who commits a crime, there is always a race involved. With race and crime there are many stereotypes that come with the subject. Race and crime are both active matters in everyday life. It is everywhere. Social Media involves race and crime in practically anything. If one is active on say for example twitter, the point of twitter is to keep your followers interested by what you are showing them. There is a reason why the news opens up with the most violent crimes and twitter is no different. As a matter of fact any form of media grasps onto it. Another example would
The amount of crimes that occur in and around sports has been a growing topic of conversation over the last decade in our society. Sports participants and spectators alike have been committing crimes on far more frequent basis over the last few years and in the minds of some, this is an issue that is getting or has gotten out of hand. There is a question that is asked by many, “Where does part of the game become a crime?” as well as; “Why are sports the cause of so much aggression?” This and many other questions relating to crime, in and around sports, are seeking an answer that may never be completely resolved.
The opponents of helmet laws seem to have a good argument. Helmet use cannot prevent an accident and Department of Transportation statistics indicate seventy five percent of bicycle related deaths are in collisions with motor vehicles (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons 2), which implies the real problem is with automobile drivers causing accidents with bikes.
lane closures and distractions to motorists. A motorist is driving the speed limit and then immediately has to slam on their brakes because another motorist sees the lane closures and decides to cut in front of them. This type of driving makes motorists mad because they know tha...
(U.S Department of State) Drivers doing what they want on the streets because of no law enforcement and the terrible condition of the roads and vehicles are the perfect recipes for
There is one practice that really irritates me during my morning commute to work in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, are the drivers who are in the “fast lane” without keeping pace with the other cars sharing the lane, and who are also failing to yield to a faster driver and allowing them to pass. The passing lane is commonly referred to as a "fast lane" because it is often used for extended periods of time for through traffic or faster traffic. In theory, a passing lane should only be used for passing, thus allowing, drivers to travel at their own pace. There are three important reasons why I believe law enforcement should spend more time ticketing drivers that impede traffic flow instead of ticketing the ones exceeding the speed if conditions warrant because the people going slow are the one’s causing the root problem and the people being erratic trying to get around are only responding to the improper use of the passing lane, making them victims and not perpetrators.
...s to make traffic more efficient. For example, the Ohio Revised Code in section 4511.21 states clearly that "No person shall operate a motor vehicle, trackless trolley, or a street car at a speed greater than reasonable or proper due regard to the traffic." Road speed limits are used to regulate the speed of vehicles. Sometimes people try to get somewhere and they go over the speed limit not realizing that they are putting themselves in danger. Now every time I get in a car with a friend or a family member, I make sure that they are going by the speed limit, not texting and paying attention on the road. It is very important that we follow this rules because they are only protecting us, and keeping us safe. If we want to reduce the millions of deaths that are caused by this imprudence every year we need to start being more responsible when we get behind the wheel.
