Category of Gemstones - There is various different types of gemstones, and well-informed the different categories can help a collector or enthusiast expand his repertory vastly. Some precious gemstones are so special in chemical composition and transparent structure that they fall into their own category, although others can be collectively lumped into one. Here are the principal types of the precious and semi-precious gemstones:
Diamond - diamond is its own kind of gemstone, and is quite known for being the hardest naturally occurring. Diamonds are largely high-carbon crystals that were fused under maximum of pressure and temperature. Chrysoberyl - this is the third hardest kind of gemstone, and although it uses aluminum oxide as a foundation element as corundum’s, it has high volume of beryllium mixed in with it. Even within these two pieces of jewelry, one can tell that people began to make their jewelry more intricately with time because there are more beads shown in the necklace than in the headdress. The miniature broad collar found in Egypt made around 300 BC is much more elaborate than the two prior pieces. The pair of gold earrings found in Greece made around 300 BC do not include gemstones like the prior three examples of jewelry, but used much more complex details in the way the gold is shaped. The fifth oldest piece of jewelry, the gold armband is also quite intricate by using both gemstones and transforming the shape of the gold. The final piece of jewelry, the brooch, is the most different of all the jewelry in the set. It was made in Rome from around 100-300 AD. This piece is much different, because it is not made of gold, like all the others, but is made of copper. Even though it is not made of gold, it is much more innovative and complex than all the other jewelry because it was made by using a new process called the niello process to create a cat, the most complex figure on a piece of jewelry in the whole set (MMA).

The film, The Sapphires, (2012), directed by Wayne Blair depicts the story of four Australian Aboriginal women who travel to Vietnam as a singing quartet to entertain the troops during the war in 1968. The scene being analyzed in this text is the scene where The Sapphires are airlifted to safety following a bombing attack deployed on the place where The Sapphires were performing. In the heat of the moments two of the girls are split up and forgotten, Dave Lovelace leaves the rest of The Sapphires to recover the lost girls, as Dave frantically searches for the missing Sapphires, he is shot in the chest. This scene is filled with many emotional and intense camera angles, sounds and lighting.

Diamonds, derived from the Greek word "adamas", meaning invincible, are formed deep within the mantle, and are composed entirely from carbon. Moreover, only under tremendous amounts of heat and pressure can diamonds form into their preliminary crystal state. In fact, diamonds are formed approximately 150km- 200km below the surface and at radical temperatures ranging from 900-1300 C°. When these extremes meet, carbon atoms are forced together creating diamond crystals. On the outside it looks like a stereotypical rock, but on the inside you don't really know whether it's actually a rock or a crystal. You need to be open minded and willing to find out.
The word diamond is originated from the Greek word, adámas, meaning invincible. While in todays’ time diamonds are used to convey love and wealth, diamonds were first used, about 3,000 years ago, in India for a more beneficial cause. During that time they were desired, not only for their value but for their refraction of light. During the past 3,000 years there have been many myths associated with diamonds. Some beliefs were conspired based on forms of metaphysical properties, medical treatments, and a curse resulting in the death of all who owned it.
I have chosen to talk about precious gemstones and crystals. There are many people now and days rediscovering the many uses of gemstones and crystals. To my knowledge each, have many different uses. They can be used as adornments, for health, for healing and for spiritual practices. You have probably never even heard of stones or crystals in this fashion before. I am going to take this opportunity to tell you what I know about this fascinating world that I have grown very accustomed to. I am not a gemstone/crystal specialist but, I do know enough about this topic to give you a slight overview about this topic.
