Athletes that play football at the college level serves the same purpose National Football League (NFL) athletes serve. At least, that is what many people think in the world we live in today. College football players play the game of football, are shown on television, and are looked up to by young people just like professional football players. The only difference between the two is NFL players get paid and college players do not. This is what leave football fans with an interesting question. College is all about having fun, meeting new people, and furthering an education. How would college be if their were millionaires walking on the campus throughout the day? College football players would be so focused on their millions of dollars that they will forget about all the work they have to complete and establishing new friendships. College football players would think they are better than everyone else and start to talk down on others without even noticing it. They would start losing their focus and forget about the real purpose of being a college student. There would be more attention on college football players and other students would also begin to fall behind as well. In college, a student’s main focus should be completing the goals they have set prior to entering college. If a college football player was getting paid millions of dollars, it would only cause a distraction for the learning environment at the college. College is all about setting goal and achieving the goals being set. College football players are already going to college for free, so they should make the best of it and make their own money in the future. The National Football League draws attention from many young men, who have love for the game of football. The NFL is a motivation to young men because it can change a person’s life instantly. It is every young man dream to grow up and do something they love, while getting paid millions of dollars to do it. If a college football was making millions of dollars while in college, what will there be to aim for? Every college football player has some type of hunger, desire, and motivation to make it to professional level of football. If college football and the NFL both offered the same things, why would a person have to make it to the next level? Contacts that involves money should remain away from college football player because it would be a stop on their skill level developing further on. College football is similar to high school football. They both serve as a preparation for player to carry along with them onto the next levels of football. People should should let college football stand for what it already is and not make any monetary additions. College football should continue to allow athletes to display their talent, so they may be able to play at the next level one day.
