DRIBLING: Dribbling is moving along with the ball while bouncing from one place of the court to another. Skilled dribbling can pull opponents to them and create space for the mates or can dribble and reach to the area to score. Basic dribbling is done with fingers spread apart to push to the ball from the top of the ball rather than with palms of hands and keep the bounce height to waist level. Using fingers provides more grip and accurate placement of the ball. If one’s holds the ball after dribbling and dribbles again, it is considered a foul known as double-dribble. A foul is also awarded if the attacker is tackled in the Key area. Types of dribbling Low dribble- bouncing the ball low nearest to the floor which limits the space the opponent can penetrate or steal the ball. Speed dribbling- it is used when the dribbler’s way is open, so to take advantage of the situation, the dribbler moves faster while bouncing the ball to achieve some distance quickly. Change of pace dribble- this type of dribble is slow and fast dribble where you do a slow dibbling from fast dribbling and from fast to slow. Cross dribble- this type of dribble is used to deflect the guarding opponent where you dribble with one hand and push the opponent with other hand to prevent the opponent from stealing the ball. My strengths would be that I can do speed dribbling. During the game if there is open space, I forward towards the opponent basket performing speed dribble and pull players towards me which creates open spaces for my mates. Weakness- I don’t have enough control over the ball when I do the speed dribbling, most of the time I either loose the ball or dribble out of the bounds as I am mostly focused and looking at the ball only. To improve it, I need ... ... middle of paper ... ...ints. MAN TO MAN DEFENCE- it is a tactical defence strategy where all defenders mark one player each. It is good defence mode which relies on individual defensive skills. This type of defence allows players to mark their opponent of the similar skill level as them. Types of man to man defence On-ball defence- It is a type of man to man defence where one defender tries to pressure the opponent with the ball to force them to make errors, bad shot by making them go to their weak side or uncomfortable position. Trapping- It’s a type of man to man defence where one defender leaves his assigned player and goes to double team the ball holder where the main goal is to frustrate the ball handler into bad shot, foul or errant pass. This type of defence requires high level team work and co-ordination. Strengths- I have good reflexes which helps me to defend and block the ball.
