1. Digital cinema
The technology that was used now in theatre is digital cinema. In addition to the equipment already in a cinema film based on a screen of DCI-compliant digital cinema requires a digital projector and a computer known as a "server". For a typical film characteristic of this file will be anywhere between 90 and 300 GB of data (about two to six times the information of a Blu-ray disc) and can reach as physical delivery on a conventional computer hard disk or via satellite or fiber-optic broadband. Reproduction of the contents is managed by the server using the "list". As the name suggests is a list of all content to be played within the play, playlist will create one of the members of staff of the theater, using proprietary software that runs on the server. In addition to listing the contents to play also includes indicators that allow playback of automation to control the projector , sound system , lighting, curtains and audience tab screen masking ( if available) , etc. A playlist can be started manually by clicking on points "Play" on the control panel server, or automatically.
2. DTS sound system
The sound system used in the theatre is DTS is a series of multichannel audio technologies owned by DTS, Inc (formerly known as Digital Theater Systems, Inc), a U.S. company specializing in digital surround sound formats used for commercial / theatrical and consumer grade applications.

So if a Multiplex cinema built, many companies will open there business like super market, food city, KFC and other private business companies. This can make a good profit by renting the places to these companies.
3. Online booking
Now peoples are not interested in waiting in long queue to take a ticket for a movie because peoples are now busy by work. So if online booking system available to people, they can easily access to theatre website and find out about the current movies running and future releasing movies. They can book for a movie which they prefer and book for suitable seats of their choice.
My grandfather has always talked about how much movies have changed in such a short amount of time. His favorite movie, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, is an example of how editing and special effects have changed drastically since only 1982 and even from the early 1900s. Watching a movie from this year compared to a movie from the 1930s, the viewer would notice many differences ranging from effects, transitions and especially quality. When film started in the late 1800s, there was no digital technology to edit films. There have been many contributors in the film industry that have helped evolve film to its digital age of today. Edwin Porter was the first person in film history to create a narrative film. Lev Kuleshov created a technique gives films certain moods to it and can affect a person’s emotions just by the way images are juxtaposed and edited together. Danny Boyle is an example of a modern day director that developed a set of guidelines that a director should reciprocate while filming. Film editing has revolutionized and developed so much since the early 1900s to now because of important contributors throughout its history that developed new technology and techniques.

Those developments which let movie’s viewers sit in the comfort of their home or anywhere with access to the internet can stream instance movies with a push of a bottom. They no longer need to make a trip to the movie’s stores for movies rental and return, so that is why movie shops fail and filed for bankruptcy bring a symbolic close to the “let’s go rent a movie” era. Due to the peak of fiber-optic and competition from companies such as Netflix, Redbox, and GameFly, Blockbuster became the victim of digital media and filed for bankruptcy on September 23, 2010 due to significant lost in revenue.[3]
As time and people are continually changing, so is knowledge and information; and in the film industry there are inevitable technological advances necessary to keep the attraction of the public. It is through graphic effects, sounds and visual recordings that all individuals see how we have evolved to present day digital technology; and it is because of the efforts and ideas of the first and latest great innovators of the twentieth century that we have advanced in film and computers.
It can be difficult to re-create the experience of going to the movie theater. However, home theaters and in-home entertainment has become more popular as online streaming has taken a precedence in the industry.
The theories of the window and frame had its origins in the schools of formalism and realism. Both schools main objective was to amplify the prestige of film. During that era of film was an upstart sideshow attraction, high class form of entertainment was the theater and the visual art forms of paintings and statues. Both schools saw cinema as a way of looking a through an aperture but keeping the audience at a distance from the subject on the screen. Whether looking through at frame or looking through a window the audience would be viewing the subject matter but they would only be able to absorb it. That’s where the similarities end the formalist lead by theorist Sergei Eisenstein saw film as frame and would create shock in an attempt to provoke or raise consciousness. Sergei Eisenstein would create what he wanted to the audience to see in his films. For example in the Battleship Potemkin Eisenstein wanted to address the situation with Russia and he created the situation in his film to incite a revolution by creating chaos. The realism school lead by André Bazin saw cinema as window. To Bazin a spectator would be apart of the film as more of a witness more than just a spectator. In the movie Rear Window Jefferies was witness to his neighbor wife murder while looking through window because while looking through a window what one sees is real.
The film Cinema Paradiso was originated in 1988, it is a drama film that was directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and it’s original title was Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. The film was an inspiring way of exploring Italian Cinema and how it’s importance to viewers it truly is. Salvator, who is the main character looked up to Alfredo as a child, who was his best friend and teacher who taught him everything he knows about film making. In Lev Manovich’s What is Digital Cinema, he states that “traditional film technology is universally being replaced by digital technology.” (Manovich, 178) This is indeed true. Digital technology is changing video games as well. Both films and video games depend on each other. Film studios and video game developers remediate each other’s product to maximize profits. Filmmakers, cinematographers, directors, actors and composers often work on video games. The two industries use the same technology. Both medias tell interrelated stories in both narrative worlds, which Jenkins calls it, transmedia storytelling. Transmedia storytelling is an approach that reconfigures the entire media experience. Video games that are based on films allow the players to interact with the characters that are seen in the film by manipulating the console’s controller.

A movie theater has its advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that people can see the showing of different movies that have been newly released. The disadvantage is that, that is all there is to it and nothing more. At home, you can control the variety and ways to watch a movie. People buy many movies to watch at home and it can be anything at any time even at any place. The only bad thing about it is that they cannot see any of the newest released movies that recently came out in theaters. There are two types of ways people watch movies at their homes. One way is people already own DVDs or have bought many of them and start watching them in their DVD players. The other ways are streaming a movie through the internet. For this to happen, people would mainly buy the monthly subscriptions such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime. In today’s technology boom, the new waves of doing business have transformed the way people shop and live. The same happened the way people access personal entertainment. With Internet, people can stream movie online without have to go theater, or the rental movie box.
Nevertheless, the question at hand is whether theatre will have a role in the society of the future, where cinema, digital television, and computers will continue to expand and grow. The answer to this question is yes. Heading into the 21st century, theatre will only be a fraction in a solid media industry. However, despite all the excitement technology brings with it, they will never replace theatre because it has something that can not be recreated or offered anywhere else. The cinema and its larger than life world appeals as an affordable alternative. Digital television provides digital interaction between the viewer and the producer. Theatre on the other hand, and its contents may take on a larger dimension, but we receive it directly in flesh and blood – one to one. The magical atmosphere between an actor and spectator who are constantly aware of each other and the theatre’s level of engagement is fundamentally more human and far more intimate.
Computer technology invades the film industry. The existence of computers have aided in the production of genres of film ranging from action movie special effects, to cartoon animation and claymation. Computer Generated Imagery, better known as CGI, assists filmmakers in many ways. An image can be made two-dimensional from a three-dimensional scene, camera angles can be altered to make a character seem larger and thus more important than its surrounding bodies, and colors can be brightened or neutralized, among other things (Parsons, Oja 1). Without the aid of computers, movies would not have the ability to be what they are today.
The purpose of this research assignment is to put forward a convincing argument in how digital technology in the last four years have completely revolutionised the whole film industry. This thesis will attempt to focus on the main disciplines of film making and the impact that technology has had on each area. Firstly, this article will look at recent changes in the pre-production area of film making followed by what new equipment and storage facilities are being used during film production. Next is arguable the biggest transformation in the film industry as a result of technology, namely the post production stage. New methods of film distribution are explored followed by the negative impact that technology has had on the film industry with the main focus being on the illegal distribution of copyrighted film footage. New ways in post-theatre film distribution is also explored and the impact that continual break-through technologies are having on the education and training of professionals working within the film industry. Finally an examination of the impact of computer generated graphics on the film industry is concluded by a brief discussion on what the future may hold for the film industry.
In a movie theater, there are experiences that some will not have while at home and watching Netflix, such as the enormous screen, comfortable movie theater seating, and the theater speakers. Netflix can be used in a causal way with friends, but the main purpose of watching a movie is enjoying the experiences one can get from the movie itself. While at the movie theaters, the environment is completely different, because everyone is supposed to be quiet or else they risk being thrown out. The experience does not compare to the feeling someone gets when that intense scene appears, and they get immersed into the atmosphere of the theater.
