Essay On Climatewarming

The greenhouse effect results from the heat energy of sunlight being absorbed by the Earth and molecules in the Earth's atmosphere ( Figure 1 ) . This energy is usually radiated back towards space. However, as we change the gases in the Earth's atmosphere as the results of everyday living, this energy is unable to leave the Earth's atmosphere and is trapped as heat. The heat causes a gradual warming of the air around the Earth. This warming is known as the greenhouse effect.
The areas that would become warmer, like Canada, do not have appropriate soil for growing crops. Lower water levels in lakes and streams would concentrate pollutants. Weather patterns may change with hurricanes probably hitting the coast farther north and with greater ferocity. Warmer temperatures would increase the volume of water in the oceans and possibly melt much of the ice in mountain glaciers and the Arctic and Antarctic ice caps ( Figure 2 ). This would cause sea level to rise, causing flooding of the world's coastal cities, where one-third of the world's population lives. Scientists learned is that there are several greenhouse gases responsible for warming, and humans emit them in a variety of ways. Most come from the combustion of fossil fuels in cars, factories and electricity production. http://www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/climatebasics.asp
The gas responsible for the most warming is carbon dioxide, also called CO2. Other contributors include methane released from landfills and agriculture (especially from the digestive systems of grazing animals), nitrous oxide from fertilizers, gases used for refrigeration and industrial processes, and the loss of forests that would otherwise store CO2 ( Figure 3 ). Some impacts due to global warming are ice is me...

...r capability and convenience. Forests also control the natural balance. People should be made aware of it. Mills, factories, brick-fields should be set up in a very good planned way. There should be well drainage system to pass away waste materials, wastages and poisonous chemicals.
In addition to reducing the gases we emit to the atmosphere, we can also increase the amount of gases we take out of the atmosphere. Plants and trees absorb CO2 as they grow, "sequestering" carbon naturally. Increasing forestlands and making changes to the way we farm could increase the amount of carbon we're storing. The alarming world’s climate is very dangerous for mankind and ecological balance. Unless Global Warming is not controlled, no men, animals will be able to live, grow and thrive. So, we should try maintain the ecological balance to decrease the effects of Global Warming.
