Looking forward to becoming a veterinarian after college? Right now there are 35 Veterinarian schools being actively acceptive for students who are looking forward to being a veterinarian. A less formal education, students would like to do in college or if they are still in high school, is working on a farm which can be helpful in many ways to help students get used to being and working with animals. After high school everyone interested in becoming a Veterinarian must complete two to four years of pre-veterinary, or science classes at college. Once accepted at a Veterinarian school it takes another four years of study to graduate with a “DVM”. They also have to earn a bachelor's degree. The American Veterinary Medical Association offers a certification in forty different specialties. Veterinarians treat animals in many places such as, zoos, aquariums, and/or farms. Students who wish to enter a veterinary program typically obtain a bachelor's degree in science-related areas, like zoology, molecular biology, chemistry, animal science and biochemistry. If you are interested in becoming a vet, students must have to pass algebra 1 in college. Being a veterinarian takes a lot of schooling and practicing to do. Helping animals is a fun and easy way to keep many species alive. If your looking forward to being a vet, you better get ready for all the hard work in the future. Being a veterinarian takes a lot of patience and vets must have the ability and strength to put animals to sleep or even give them shots when they get ill. I chose this career because, I love animals and will love to save them if they are ill, or in need of medical care.
