461 Words1 Page

I had to read two books for a project these two books are about World War II.

They were called The Book Thief and Hitler’s Shadow War

Hitler started to rise in power in Germany in a steady uphill rise where he was

elected chancellor. The National Socialist German Workers' Party in german is

Nationalsozialistische Deutsche and it is Nazi for short. The Nazi party started to do Anti

Jewish violence starting in 1933 the year Hitler was elected chancellor.

Hitler started lessening the rights of jewish people making them even lesser because

people already blamed them for things. Hitler got people to hate the Jewish people

And he had a perfect ideal for people which was German people of German blood,

his ideals made him try to kill …show more content…

The allies won soon after and lots of the Nazis were taken

and were sent to trial and were punished for trial by death . Hitler ended up killing

himself after he lost the war.

Both of the books helped me have a greater understanding of world war II and

what Hitler did. Hitler's Shadow War gave me even more insight of how harsh Hitler was

The Book Thief watered down more of the terrible things Hitler did because the book

was made for younger adults. The information that was different from both books is that

The Book Thief did not talk much about Hitler but mostly the Nazis. Hitler’s Shadow War

as the title said mostly talks about hitler and the terrible things he did to the jews.

The Book Thief talks about bombings where the historical text talks about the bombings

and the gas chambers. The Book Thief does not talk about Auschwitz where the

historical text does. The Book Thief is just more watered down than the historic text.

Both of the books were great and they were fun to read i liked The Book Thief

more because it was not just a bunch of facts telling me on some information that i had

already known about. This project was fun it did give me more information on

World War
