There are many great heroes and their stories are always fascinating. Whether they are fictional or not, a hero is someone that is strong, selfless, and is always willing to do things for the better of society and its people. Both Beowulf and Perseus were great fictional heroes. They both had glorious quests where they were faced with some ethical decision that tested their morality. They always accomplished their goals and made somewhat ethical decisions that aided people in need. Both of them, glorified and all, had some form of strength that was either a tool or just pure strength. He was ridiculously strong, which is just one of many characteristics that made a him a great hero. Beowulf’s epic story started when he heard of the terrible monster Grendel, who everyone hated, even God. So Beowulf went and slayed Grendel and his Vengeful mother for Herot and its citizens. He later became the King of Geatland and ruled for 50 years due to a dragon that he slayed, despite his old age and lack of athleticism. Just like Perseus, Beowulf is a cliché hero and their stories will be told, read, and portrayed on screen for many more years. In a way every story like Beowulf’s and Perseus’ are predictable. You can, most of the time, predict what’s going to happen next. The good guy always wins in these stories; though there has been multiple stories where the hero or protagonist dies or loses their battle or challenge, but these stories are not like that. They both have one or more enemy that they have to defeat to save and help people. So, in conclusion, they are the typical heroes who always accomplish their goals in saving citizens and defeating a foe. They do have some differences, such as their quests, characteristics, names, and other minor details. In the end, Beowulf and Perseus both defeat the dragon, monster or whatever it is they have to defeat and get gold, girl or whatever makes it a happy
