I. Identify and Describe Career
I chose to gather information about mechanical engineering because I would like to pursue a career in this field. mechanical engineering is a broad subject with countless definitions at best it is simply the analyzation and creation of moving mechanisms. My grandfather always pushed me to be an engineer, because of him I've learned to do well in math and enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties of a mechanical engineer when making this decision.

Other similar careers like a materials engineer make a median of $90,000 per year or a natural resource manager $110,000 per year (“Summary”).
As of right now, there are 288,800 mechanical engineering positions in the U.S.A. (“Summary”). Bls.gov predicted that there will be a 9% increase from the years twenty sixteen to twenty twenty-six, hopefully, the site will prove to be prophetic. Some median annual pay by region is $81k for Oklahoma, $83k for Missouri, $103k for Texas, and $86k for Florida (“Summary”).
There is a lot to prepare for in school for this career but, for out of school, it's a good idea to build on your creativity, listening skills, and mental math skills. Similar to most jobs engineer employers look for characteristics like punctuality, integrity, and dedication. The courses I'm taking to achieve my degree include general studies, thermodynamics and multiple courses of calculus according to several engineering students at OSU 've spoken to. It will take me 4 to 5 years to completely join the engineering career force, but after 2 or 3 years of college, I can apply for an internship.
