Abstinence Prevents Unhealthy Relationships Growing up in the twenty-first century, a society where premarital sex is not only suggested, but supported and even encouraged, can be extremely stressful and have unnecessary, long term effects. Abstinence is not easy for teens who choose a harder, but more effective path. Despite constant pressure from peers, boyfriends with raging hormones, and social media, there is a much better alternative which has proven to be much more beneficial to achieving a long term, successful, healthy, sexual relations. Young adults who choose to be abstinent or wait until they are married to have sex, have proven to be less stressed with the concern of STD’S or STI’S. Abstinence, most importantly will lead to more satisfying sex, and more stable, enduring marriages. Abstinence will also alleviate the chance of teen pregnancy out of wed lock. The look of a young couple involved in a sexual relationship can be very deceiving, but not all is what it seems. There is illusion in how the relationship appears compared to how the relationship is actually. Most teens view premarital sex as a way to seal the bond with a significant other, or a way to ensure their own security within the relationship. One of the most significant benefits of abstinence would be the relief of stress concerning possible STD’S that are only contracted through sexual intercourse or direct contact with the genitals. Studies show that while engaging in premarital sex their academic performance declines due to the lack of maturity and being unable to control their explosive sex drive(Hanna). Most of the time teenagers think that because they are committed in a relationship, the other party is committed as well, this situation is def... ... middle of paper ... ...and stressful uncertainties. Among these risks there are also the chances of contracting a sexually transmitted disease when you engage in unprotected sex. Some of these treatable and some of them not. In some cases, they may not even know that they have an STD. One should not let the rest of their life’s health be determined by uneducated teenagers. One definitely should not count on the integrity of someone else to be honest when it comes to STD'S. All the above mentioned uncertainty could be irrelevant to those who abstain. Teenagers should stay informed and educated enough to stay young and healthy. Most enjoyably, having little or no responsibilities. Abstinence is the only guarantee to be STD free. It also promises that one would not have an unplanned pregnancy, and almost always ensures healthy, happy, sexual experiences and more fulfilling relationships.
