Problem solving ability/Strong I may not have much self-confidence in many of the skills I have, but my problem solving abilities is not one of them. I will not say “I love a challenge,” but I will say if a challenge comes up “I am ready for it.” I would admit that my fine motor skills are a big reason that I can finish task with great efficiency. I am a very cautious person that is aware of my surrounding along with my body in time and space. Fast reflexes along with my sharp wit I can carry out many of my goals fast but safely. I have worked many construction jobs that being as fast I am came in handing especially if a mess up occurs I can quickly solve the problem and make things disappear. I can usually predict when things suddenly go wrong and such as if something was falling either move out the way or catch the object before it hits the ground. (164) Commitment/Strong I can truly agree with me being a committed person, even though it was not the wises decision at the time. I have stayed at jobs way too long thinking things would get better if I just stick it out jus...
I had not heard about inductive interview until my professor assign our qualitative research class an exercise related to that topic. He required our class to “inductively determine your interviewee’s conception of “closeness” without asking for a definition. Actually, I was confused about the true meaning of inductive interview. I have had some basic understandings of inductive approach and inductive analysis but I was not sure about the connection between these concepts and inductive interview. I did a quick search on google and no exact concept was found. So I came back to the assignment requirement and tried to find some clues of how to conduct an inductive interview. At first, I felt lucky that at least my professor gave me a suggestion
In the United States, the history of Career and Technical Education evolved within four major periods. First, the Awakening period which began in 1776-1826, when the right to a free public education was expressed. During this era, educational opportunities in labor and industrial education were being demanded. The rising working class began to press for an education that were more appropriate for their labor and industry’s needs (Awakening 1776-1826, 1976). Even Benjamin Franklin who represented the Awakening middle class was on board with the rise of technical and vocational education which were taught primarily by private masters or contracted apprenticeships (Cohen, 1976).

It is fairly common for one to think that nurses have one job description and they all do the same work. In general, nurses deliver a variety of services to the community. Nurses are there to provide service and cater to the sick, advocate healthy and fruitful [1] lifestyle, and prevent injuries and diseases (“What Does a Nurse Do”). Nursing is a great career with a variety of jobs within it and caters to different skills people might possess and different lifestyles people might live or want to live. With that being said, many wonder about how to become a nurse [2], what nurses do on a day to day basis, how much nurses earn, and the job outlook, so they can determine
Completing a task, whether it be mentally challenging or physically challenging, in order to reach a certain goal, is what defines work. When that work starts to bring in income for you, you can categorise that work as your career. Many people look at their job from a different angle in order to improve the satisfaction that they get from it. They try to find enjoyment out of their job in order to see it from a different angle and seek some enjoyment out of it. By definition, if you are getting any sort of pleasure from your work or you are completely satisfied with the way it’s going, if you are receiving income for the work then it cannot be considered as working. Throughout this essay, points will be made in order to back this up as well as stating ways in which pleasure can be found in your work by enforcing a positive workplace. By shining positive light into a workplace, we are able to increase the
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
In every work place you will find employees who are happy with what they do and employees who are just there to complain and collect a paycheck. My topic for this discussion will cover job dissatisfaction.
As we have discussed in this course employee relations are a very important concept for organizations to pay attention to. As defined in the Dailey lectures employee relations is “The psychological contract between employee and manager” (Slide 2, Introduction to communication). This definition illustrates that there is an obligation from employers to their employees. The Dailey lecture also offered another definition of employee relations from Cambridge Dictionary, which defines employee relations as “the relationship between employees and managers in a company, especially whether the employees feel happy with their working condition and involved in making decisions” (Cambridge Dictionaries Online). Communication is a very important ingrained
Denis O’Sullivan’s Cultural Politics and Irish Education since the 1950’s (2006) makes the argument that early school leaving has traditionally been understood as a failure of the individual to succeed within mainstream schooling. This essay plans to outline and support O’Sullivan’s argument and also to show how the political and educational system in Ireland has created a criterion for success which guarantees a certain amount of failure.

This is a very insightful post. I completely agree with your rationale behind job analysis and job evaluation. Essentially, a job analysis is used to gather information about the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics that are required for success in an established position. To put it simply, job analysis entails forming requirements associated with a job. Moreover, the primary cause an organization utilizes job analysis is to ensure the selection procedures they use to choose between job applicants are solid, justifiable, and logical (Gammon, 2017).
Job classification is to group job positions and then value them in a fair and transparent manner according to various functions as well as geographically.
To excel in the workplace, the expectations of an employee include more than what they do physically. They also include the mental and social aspects, particularly if that employee is expected to work with a diverse set of individuals to complete certain tasks. After all, all types of people seek out employment and discrimination in the workplace is unacceptable since all people deserve a chance to work for a living. Each individual has the responsibility to not only be able to work with others, but to make working with each other a pleasant experience so as to make teamwork and communication easier. With all parts of a company working smoothly, the success of the overall company is assured.
