Arranging Project Reflection: Senior Strings Looking back I think that my pitch accuracy and intonation were good during the in-class performance. I had spent a large part of my rehearsal time focusing on playing the correct notes in tune and fingering since the piece was in A Major and I had to remember to extend forward and back. I tried to apply appropriate tone quality depending on the song as well as fitting stylistic articulations like the staccato from bars 86 to the end of the piece. Also, I felt that my rhythm was accurate for the majority of the performance. I’m not sure if it was bad or not but I feel like my posture and communication with my group members could have been better while playing. My piece could have also had a more
Since I have been worked in Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, I was not surprised with the work load and the hospital setting at Millcreek Community Hospital (MCH). With a goal of enrichment my knowledge in a hospital pharmacy setting, I am enthusiastic in accomplishing the assigned duties. I have very high expectation during these four weeks of IPPE rotation; I expect to learn beyond what I already know in the past and apply what I learn during the past year in to pharmacy practice. Arriving at Millcreek Community Hospital, I was not surprised the pharmacy's setting in hospital but I'm surprised the different types of work I received. At Veteran Affairs Medical Center, all I ever did are filling the prescriptions, stocking, and managed automated machines but at MCH,
Furthermore, our band had two concerts this semester. During our March concert, I was far more relaxed than my first concert. I felt that I played a lot better, and improved many aspects of my playing. However, I felt that I still needed to focus more on my dynamics, and listening to the rest of the band. In that concert we played Metrix, Water is Wide, Cold Mountain Saga, and Jungle Dance. Overall, our band improved, as we had better dynamics and articulation. However, we still were not together at times, and we sometimes ...
I started this project very excited and interested in different decisions I’d be able to make and choose for a virtual child. I want to be a parent at some point in time, so I found this project to be very influential and helpful for me. Throughout the simulation, I made choices and decisions based on what both my parents and I would do, particularly leaning toward a stricter parenting style in order to keep the child in line with good morals and a strong background. I enjoyed this assignment, and I expect to remember certain decisions I made when I may become a real parent.
I was proud of your active participation in the various dramatic play experiences that you have been involved in lately. Throughout these experiences you listened and responded to your friends’ dialogues and cues, this enabled you to be fully involved in the play. Look at these pictures I captured of you playing with your friends on many different occasions. You look to be
I think it was fine. In fact, I was definitely wrong. They do not believe what I say when we discussed about questions. They did not pass me ball when we played. They...
For this critique, I was fortunate enough to attend a jazz performance by Deborah Davis and Ben Rosenblum. Davis was the vocalist and Rosenblum was the pianist. This concert was part of a jazz concert series presented by Preservation New Jersey and the New Jersey Jazz Society. I enjoyed this performance because I was able to witness a professional pianist play up close in a relaxed setting. I was seated in the second pew of the sanctuary, directly in view of Rosenblum’s hands as he performed. This allowed me to not only listen to Rosenblum’s music, but also view his technique and positions throughout the performance. In addition, I am not often able to witness professional jazz performances, but I look forward to attending more in the future.
However, I did notice that there were a few faults in the presentation, one being a fault that I personally consider may have negatively impacted our presentation. It seems to me that I was not able to deliver the presentation to the best of my ability as I had let my nerves get the best of me when talking to the staff. The reason for this was that I was not comfortable with taking on the speaking role that I was given and that there were last minute changes made to my slides right before presenting. Bruner, (1996) stated that the learning process for staff relies on the “meaningful dialogue” that is presented by the presenters. In this case, I think that my speech was not strong enough to grab the audience’s attention, thus not being able to portray my message about what an Ofsted inspection is and what the results from an Ofsted inspection mean. Nevertheless, although I was not able to present to the quality that I had wished, the feedback received was reassuring that I had not done terribly bad. I was able to see myself grow as a presenter as I noticed that my
This piece was a lovely piece it allowed me to be humorous and serious at the same time, I was able to show that I can work well with staging in the way I used the stage and my stage presence was seen, I was also able to show that I can play different characters from different genres and I also showed my skill of being able to do accents with this piece cause I was a coloured lady with an Afrikaans accent and I was able to maintain it throughout the piece I also showed that I am good in my characterisation skills because in my first piece I was more of an emotional person and in this one I’m more of a dominant rough character like the way I was making threats
Overall my partner and I were able to deliver a good performance. I was able to express the way Macbeth was feeling to the audience. I think the way I performed helped the audience get an idea of what was happening. I was able to convey my emotions though my body language and the way I addressed the lines. Playing Macbeth was an interesting experience. Performing this scene helped me discover the personalities of the characters.
In all, I think the choir concert went very well I thought that the performers did a great job and worked very hard to get where they are today.
I was scared that I will forget or go blank in the middle of the story, so instead of telling the story just as I had practiced, I found myself rushing and missing many things, including the verbal and non-verbal choices. For verbal choices, I did not have problem remembering the story and some key phrases. However, I forgot to make the characters’ voice more distinct, especially for the cute little girl’s voice. For non-verbal choices, I forgot to look up and down when the girl and the old lady have a conversation, I forgot to make an exciting face for the little girl when she was thrilled to have a pot, and I forgot to repeat a key phrase “bubbling up”. After seeing my own performance, I realized that I used the word “and” too many times, and out of nervousness I mispronounced few words. As I watched myself performing, I remembered myself not being confident for doing the hand motions I practiced. I did not emphasize some of the details very well. I was not being firm and straight in posture, narration, eye contact, and facial expressions. Moreover, I almost forgot what I should say as the second last sentence that I practiced a lot for an ending, and I laughed because I was embarrassed by the fact that I made a mistake at the end after rushing instinctually until the end to avoid making
In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
Community projects are well known for giving students the opportunity to be able to express them selves and learn new tasks and responsibilities. Although, through out my community project path I found myself finding the right lace to learn and achieve the goals as well as the responsibilities and the role of the experience. Yet, the project wasn’t an easy project because I had to deal with different case mangers and different clients. However, through trying and working on my goals, I was to develop my learning experience in term of making healthy relationship with my clients.
The performing stage was a good stage. Our group performed a terrific job with bringing our project put together, creating a presentation and then doing it. The performance didn't see, to be much stressful; instead it was filled with joy and some wonderful advice from the lecturer. My group contained people from different cultures. We have developed those skills and strategies, which had helped our group to interact freely with one another and accept each other’s beliefs.
All in all, I felt that this lesson implementation was a good experience for me, I learned a lot from last semesters practicum, and feel more comfortable teaching the children while being observed and am able to manage the class much better, although I am still quite nervous, which is something that I will continue to work on.
