Think of three things that irritate you the most. Surely traffic has got to be one of them. Road construction just happens to be the main cause for traffic. To add on, road construction seems to usually take place in the busiest roads at the busiest times. In the article “Effects of Street Pattern, Traffic, Road Infrastructure, Socioeconomic and Demographic characteristics on Public Transit Ridership.” by Mosabbir Pasha, he talks about travel demand increasing in many countries. In other words, there is more traffic happening all over the world. I come from Goshen, Indiana which is a small town. These are also factors that cause even more traffic. Constructors seem to place cones in a narrow fashion, which makes it seem as if they do not quite understand there are enormous vehicles that go through roads. By doing this, those who are driving a truck, bus or RV are forced to drive with even more precaution in order to not hit the cones, otherwise if they do end up knocking down the cones it would cause traffic jam. Obviously when construction is happening erroneous signs have to be put up in order to alert people that there is construction up ahead. The only issue with this is constructors forgetting to put the signs down/away at times which then leads to drivers not being aware of construction actually being finished and driving with more precaution in order to not get on the lane which is supposedly under …show more content…

Another factor that will help keep things organized and well prepared is for Goshen to analyze street patterns. According to Pasha from the article “Effects of Street Pattern” their job is to examine the effects on public transit ridership of different transportation and design factors. Some examples of this are neighborhood street patterns, traffic and roads. By doing this, traffic will surely not occur. In order to do this the community would have to have all of Goshen take a survey on what times would best suit them for construction to take place. In this survey it should also include which road is going to be worked on and suggestions on other routes that can be taken in case road construction times do not fit certain peoples schedules. I know most people would suggest the construction to happen at night since that’s when most people are sleeping so there is less of
